I like her friends already. I think I'll get along with Alex most of all. Shai took like twenty pictures of me and Angel. "So Leland how did you meet Angel and please dont call me sir." "Ok. Well her ex missed court and we had to go after him so we called her up looking for him. Well shit happened and he beat the crap out of her and she came in and I fell in love with her right then and there." I said. "Ok right now we have to get down to business," Alex said. "Ok shoot,"I said. "How do you feel about Angel? Are you just string her around for fun? Are you going to hurt her?" "Ok, ok give me a second. Alright now. I love Angel with everything that I have. No I am not string her around for fun. I would never ever hurt Angel physically or emotionally. I love her in fact," I looked around to see where she was. Angel was heading to the living room. "I hope you guys are behaving yourselves." You say as you walk into the living room. You sat down next to Leland. Your phone goes off, its a text and its from Chris. It reads, 'so you think your fucking little bounty hunter can save you? Well he cant. Just wait and see.' Leland looked at you and showed it him and he got up and went in the kitchen. 'Fuck' you think hes mad. "Ok guys I have to go talk to Leland why dont you just chill and watch TV until dinner comes." "Alright" they all say. "Baby wait come here." Hes started heading to the truck. "What? You want to stand by and see if something happens to you. No fuck that I'm handling it now. Wheres my bat?" "Leland Blane Chapman stop right now. You will not sink to his level. Now I love you and I will not be scared anymore. He doesnt know where I live and if it comes down to it I'll go get a restraining order on him. Ok?" "You promise. If he calls or texts you again you'll go?" "Yes I promise. Now get over here and give me a kiss." and he did and you guys go back in the house. Dinner comes and you guys have pizza. Everyone is done with dinner and Alex, Shai and Bob are ready to pass out so they all head upstairs. You and Leland are in the office doing some paperwork. You look at the clock and its 12:30am. "Shit baby we have to get to bed." You say and start packing up. You guys get upstairs and Lelands phone go off and you figure its just someone calling to bail them out so you go to the bathroom and you hear him going "no, no please dont do this. Please dont do this." And then he hear him shut his phone. "Leland whats the matter." And you can hear him crying. "Baby whats the matter?" you say as you kneel in front of him. "Maui is moving to California and taking the boys with her." "What? Why?" "I dont know." She just called and said 'you dont have any time for the boys so were moving to California' and hug up. "Ok, ok we'll figure this out. Leland well fight for the boys I promise." And you give him a hug and just hold him. Now you've talked to Maui a couple times and you know her. You wouldn't call her a friend but you know her. Leland had passed out on the bed. You pick up your phone and call Maui and it goes straight to voice mail. "Hello Maui this is Angel. Hey we need to talk soon. You cant do this to him. Those boys are his life. Please dont do this." About 2:30 that morning she called you back. "Hello?" you say all croggy. "Yea this is Maui. It's not like he sees the boys anyway." "No you dont understand he loves those boys. Please dont take them away from him." "I don't you around my boys thats why I'm taking them away" and she hangs up. You pick up the phone and call Beth. "Hello?" she says.

I heard her crying, I heard her pacing. I followed her voice until it led me to the kitchen. I could ring Maui's neck. How dare she say those things to Angel. First of all her and Angel have never met in person and Angel has barely spoken to her on the phone. I haven't seen my sons in God knows how long because of work. I wanted this house to call ours. To have my boys back and have a family with Angel. Wow did I really just think that? Then Angel's words pulled me back to where I stood. "I need to leave Beth. If it means that Leland will have his boys then I need to leave." She wanted to leave. Leave me? No this wasn't happening to us.
"Beth I'm here now. " I hung up the phone allowing Beth to go back to bed. Grabbed Angel's hand and led her back to our bed room, sat her down on the bed. "Why in God's name are you trying to leave?" "Leland I will not be the reason you don't see your kids. I screwed up enough lives. You and your family have done way to much for me as it is, why would I want to hurt you?" "Angel you are part of this crazy family now. Do you hear me? Is hurting me what you want?" "Of course not Leland!" Angel just about screamed. She got up and started to pace the bedroom. "Listen to me Angel, I love you with everything I got. You bought this light into my life that I thought went out a long time ago. Everyone sees it, including Maui. She doesn't want to see me happy without her. I know that I will have my sons and I'm keeping you right by my side, right where you belong." She was still pacing biting on her bottom lip. "Angel do you hear me?"

You did hear him. You heard everything he said, but you couldn't believe what he was saying. He wanted you there with his family. Hell he even said you were part of his family. And for the first time since you left home, you felt like you belonged somewhere. You felt like you had another family and you were happy. "Angel! Damn it! Stop pacing and say something will you?" "I love you too Le-Le. If you really want me beside you, then thats where I'll stay." "Good Angel. I will fight Maui for my boys, they will not being anywhere. Now listen its really early and we need to get some sleep we have a busy day tomorrow." You both head back to the bed and climb in and hold each other nice and tight. "My Angel" Leland whispers as he kisses your forehead and you drift off to sleep.
