A week later
Angel's parents were here every day with me. Tony was finally coming today. I was nervous but had talked to him plenty times on the phone, I apologized for not keeping his sister safe. He said none of that matter because he knew I was here. They had taken her off the breathing machine but was still in a coma. They said it was now up to her to come thru. She was out of ICU. Her parents had gone with dad and Beth to pick Tony up. Maui was sitting in jail awaiting trial on attempted murder. So here I was with my boys talking to their mama. "Mama when you wake up lets go to the beach." Cobie said talking away to her. Dakota was very quite but had his hand on her belly. "Daddy I feel something," "son what are you talking about?" "There's something in mommy's belly." I sat up and put my hand right where his was. Sure enough there was my babygirl kicking up a storm. " boys that would be your baby sister." I said as the tears came rolling down my face. It was just then that everyone came into the room. Tony walked right up beside the bed and kissed his sister and felt his niece kicking. " hey who are you?" Dakota asked standing up on the bed. "Dakota Chapman sit down before you fall and get hurt." I looked around like I had heard a ghost. Everyone was shocked. "Mommy!!!!" Cobie yelled and made to hug her. "Whoa easy now buddy" my angel had woken up. "Baby your awake," was all I could choke out. " I never left Le-Le." I didn't care who was there. I kissed her with everything I had. " someone go get the doctors. Boys get off the bed. Angel does anything hurt? Are you ok?" She had closed her eyes again. " baby I'm ok, I think. Sore, but ok" the doctors came in to examine her. "Mr. Chapman you need to leave so we can check her out," a nurse had started to say " like hell if you think I'm leaving now. I haven't left in the week and half she's been here and now she's awake and you think I'm going to leave?" "Leland relax is it ok he stays?" She asked, eyes still closed but her hand firmly gripping mine. The doctor looked at me and then Angel, "nurse I think we can bend the rules this time." They told Angel what was going on with the surgeries and the damage it done and the seizers. "Honestly Mrs. Chapman you've surprised us all. With the amount of blood you lost and the seizers you should be a vegetable, your daughter shouldn't be here, but all things said and done, your both heathy. We'll have a nurse and obgyn come tomorrow to talk with you guys. You'll spend at least the next 2 days here and we'll take it from there." "Thank you Doctor for everything." I said as they made their way out the door. Angel was sitting up and quite, "Le I'm sorry." "Babygirl why are you sorry???" "Leland I didn't know I was pregnant," she said with a sniffle "hey hey no crying, I know you didn't know. It's ok. I'm so happy. Our daughter is heathy, Mrs. Chapman." I said as I leaned down and kissed her. There was a knock on the door.

You couldn't remember to much of what had happened. Bits and pieces came back as everyone talked to you. Maui wasn't getting out. You couldn't believe your parents were here with your brother. You sat with them for what seemed like ever. The whole Chapman family never left, you all got along great. You facetimed with Bob, Alex and Shai. Finally as the boys laid with you, you drifted to sleep. Everyone slowly left whispering their good byes. Leland walked everyone out and shut the lights off. He sat beside the bed with his head on the bed. " babe why don't you," " not going anywhere so dont even finish that sentence Angel" he said as he moved closer. " I haven't left your side since you got here not think I'm going to start now." With your hand on the back of his head you fell asleep.
The two days seemed to flew by. Doctors upon doctors were in and out of your room. Family and friends came and went. Leland never left your side. As things were being packed you sat in the chair with Cobie asleep on your lap, Leland tired to take him off but he insisted to stay with you, as much pain as you were in you couldn't say no. Dakota never leaving your side, you looked down at your stomach. How could you have not known. "Baby is something wrong?" Leland asked bringing you back to the room. "No my love I'm ok." "Mommy can I talk to our sister?" Dakota asked looking up at you from his chair. "Of course you can sweets." You got your discharge papers and was outside waiting for Leland to pull the car around. Tony was with you and your parents waiting at home for you. "Tony stay close please. Something doesn't feel right." "What's up sis? Do you need me to go get a doctor?" " no not that. We're being watched." "Angel your crazy there's no one watching us." "Yes there is, he's here I know he is." And with that you heard him. There was no mistaking that voice. "Well well well look at what we have here." Tony turned slowly as he reached slowly to his right side. You knew it was there you saw it earlier. You meant to ask him why he was carrying a gun around. "Brother and sister together again. You know I heard what happened to you. It's a shame she didn't kill you. Didn't want to have to get my hands dirty." The words poured out of his mouth with disgust. " or did you forgot what I can to you?" " Chris I highly suggest you back the fuck off and run. Run as far you can, and when you think it's enough run some more. You will never lay another hand on my sister." "Oh you think so? Look at that slut. She's nothing. She'll always be nothing. She always comes back to me, I see shes pregnant again. Don't worry bitch. I'll beat you again just like I did before. Do you remember that? You lost our baby." Tears started to form. You could see with black trucks at the far end of the parking lot. Someone had to have called the Chapmans. You slowly rose from the chair, and started to walk slowly towards him. "I'm not scared of you anymore. I'm happy now, happier then I have ever been. I don't need you. You are the scum. And it's time you for you leave, because I promise you that my husband sees you and it won't be pretty." You were filled with rage and didn't hear anything he was spitting at you. You didn't hear the horns going at you. The last thing you remember is him calling you trash and that the whole family would pay for ruining his life. HIS life you laughed at that and with that, you cold cocked him so hard, he knocked out. Blood pouring from his nose. Tim, Dog, Tony and Leland were stunned. Beth rushed to you. "Sista you ok?" She asked as you stood over his body. Tony and and Tim were cuffing him as he started to come to. Sirens in the background. "Tony get in the car. Now." You said. You turned and smiled at your future mother in law. "Never better mom." and hugged her. "Baby what the hell was that?" "Leland can we go home now?" The police had arrived and Chris was arrested and in the back of the car screaming and bleeding. "Ma'am sorry but we have to ask a couple questions." A younger cop came over and said. "Sir with all do respect my wife is just getting out of the hospital and is very weak is this really necessary?" "Well sir," "Richie don't you know who these people are? This is the Chapman family and I really do think Mrs. Chapman should go home and be with her family." The older cop said as he winked at you. You got in the truck with Leland's help as the cop cars pulled away. Happy to be going home with your loved ones, knowing that you will never have to see him again.
