I was so happy that Cobie was being discharged and I knew why her mom didnt come to the hospital. Her and Beth were at our house getting the nursery ready. Because of work Angel and me hadnt had time to get it put together. Everything from the baby shower were still in boxes. I was quite the whole ride home, thinking about the fact Maui had called Angel. "whats Beth's car doing here?" Angel asked as we pulled into the drive way. "well you see wife I felt bad for fighting with you about everything," I said as I reached around the back to grab Dakota and the bags and she grabbed Cobie, "so I called Beth and your mom to come over and fix up Jade's room." I finished saying as I walked thru the door. "and we decided to make dinner." Beth said as she walked around the corner. It was all and all a good and quite night. We ate dinner then popped a movie and relaxed until it was time to put the boys to bed and went to bed ourselves. I fell asleep with my arms wrapped around her like I've done every night. I woke up a couple hours later not being able to sleep. So I headed to basement to beat on the bag. "Your restless my love." She said as she came down the stairs. "Sorry babe, just couldn't sleep and I'm not really sure why." I said as I came to stairs where she sat. "I know why Leland." "Why?" I asked her as I kissed her nose. "Your thinking about Maui." "Are you crazy?" I said walking back to the bag, hitting it harder with each blow. "Hey stop it, your going to rip it out of the ceiling. Now I didn't say you were thinking about her romantically. Just said you were thinking about her. She wants to apologize to you Leland. Here call her, its like 7 over there." she said as she handed me the phone and made her way back up the stairs. "Number is already punched in just hit the call button and ask for Maui." Angel said as the door shut. "Turning Point this is Cindy, how can I help you?" "Hi I was wondering if I could talk to a patient there, Maui." "Are you a friend or family member?" "I'm her ex-husband." "Ah Mr. Chapman, Mrs. Chapman said you would be calling soon please wait just a second and I'll go get Maui." Why was I not surprised that Angel had already called, "Hello?" she didn't sound like the women I was with before. "Leland?" "Yea, sorry hi Maui. Hows it?" "Oh you know just peachy. Listen I know your mad at the fact that I called Angel but I kept getting pictures of you guys and the boys and I just wanted to let you and Angel know I never asked for them, and while it was wonderful seeing the boys, I do understand that I gave my rights up. I do love them, but I can't be a mother to them. I'm sorry for all the pain I have caused you Leland. I would like to invite you and Angel out here so I can apologize in person. I want to see the boys too but I understand if you don't want to." she said all in one breathe, she was nervous. "I don't know Maui, Cobie just got out of the hospital, he's fine just a bad flu, Dakota is still shaken up about everything and Angel is," I stopped saying " I know 7 months pregnant." Maui finished, "and we will be on a plane in the afternoon with the boys. But Maui we are bringing my brother with us and if I feel like the boys are uncomfortable or they want to go, we will not make them stay." " I understand Angel, thank you for giving me this opportunity." she said. "Ill call the facility when we land I guess." I finished saying as I looked at my wife. "what the hell is going on?" I asked her. "Leland I ended the ugly part of my life and now its time for you to do the same. Besides I can still fly now, we wait any longer and I wont be able to go with you. That is of course if you want me to go." "Angel don't even play like that. You know I want you to go." "Ok then. Go take a shower, bags are packed and tickets bought." I don't know how she does it. I really don't. I want to be mad, but I can't. I know at the end of the day she's right. I need this closure just like she needed. I headed to our bathroom and showered. As I sat on the bed I made a couple calls, my brother and my dad both who agreed with Angel. Then the last call was to my own mother. She hadnt met Angel yet. She hadnt been at our wedding. She was close to Maui and wasn't happy that I ended things with her. But it was time to clear things with my mom. "Hello?" "Hi mom." "Leland son is that you? How are you?" "I'm good mom. How are you doing?" "Ok." "Listen mom. Me, the boys and Angel are heading to Utah and I'd like you to meet up with us." "Who is this Angel?" "Mom she is my wife. Don't start mom. There's a lot that has happened and I'd like to talk to you about it." "Like some women stealing a married man?" "Mom I'm not doing this on the phone. Will you meet us in Utah?" "Yea I guess.." was all she said. God did this women drives me crazy. "Mom I'll call you when we land." and I hung up throwing my phone as I did. "Leland come eat, breakfast is ready." Angel called up to me. I walked into my kitchen, where my boys sat with Tony talking away and Angel stood putting food on plates. "Looks good babygirl" I said as I stood behind her hugging her, getting hard as I did. She blushed and pushed me away taking her seat next to the head of the table. I never realized she always put me at the head, I shook my head and sat down. "Goodmorning Cobie and Dakota. Hows it Tony?" "late night," Tony said as he smiled and I laughed. "Gross," Angel said under her breath. Morning Dad." the boys said. " Guys were going on a trip." "To disney word?" Dakota said, spitting pancakes out of his mouth. "Dude come on now." Angel said reaching over and cleaning up the mess, looking at me. "No son we are not going to Disney world, maybe after your sister is born, boys we're going to see your mom and your grandmother." At grandmother Angel nearly chocked on her food. "Leland you didn't say anything about your mom being there. She friggen hates me." "She doesnt hate you Angel, she doesn't know you. Thats why I asked her to meet us." "Why are we seeing our other mom?" Dakota looked up at us. Angel looked at me and looked at the boys sighed and said "You boys know I love you with my whole heart, your other mom had, well she had a hard time dealing with things when her and your dad broke up and she did a lot of things she didnt mean and she wants to say sorry for it." "oh ok." and that was it.
