Dawn's P.O.V

"If I lay here, if I just lay here..." I said trailing off leaning against the cold window, the rain had started to fall rhythmically all over town as my dad made his way to the Academy, I would be in time to catch my last class and my dance class that took after school.

To be honest if it were up to my dad I would only be attending just in time for my dance class, but since the last class was English the one my mom gave my dad would get in serious trouble, I mean serious "you are sleeping in the couch tonight" trouble, my mother did not like it one bit when we ditched class especially if my father was encouraging it; for my brother and I we always brought good grades hope, my brother excelled in math, physics, calculus and anything related to numbers as for me, I was all in for English, French, Italian, History, anything art related and all, but my mother gave us requirements if we wanted to go to parties or anything like that.

"We're here princess." My dad said as he pulled over by the main entrance.

I gave a small sigh and took off my headphones.

"Dad, do I really have to go?" I asked my dad, now don't get me wrong, I love my mom so freaking much, she was the best, but being in class with her?

I hated it so much, it was dreadful.

Now my mom did not give us any special treatment because we were her kids, her oldest and favorite I must add kids, but she wasn't hard on us either, you see my mom at 5'2 feet tall looked all sweet, loving and motherly but in class and when on her bad side my mom was someone to be afraid of, even my dad who was over 6'3 almost 6'4 was terrified of my mom, just one look and he would immediately cave in to her commands and wishes.

My mom was hard on everyone in class, it was equally hard for everyone, nothing more and nothing less but you see whenever Braden and I got good grades on class with her, let's just say that people were quite skeptical as for how we had obtained that, and no not only were the students doubtful about this but in some occasion the faculty as well.

There was a reason why Mr. Cass could not stand my brother or I, he thought that because my father was the Alpha and my mom was one of the founding members of the school, head of the board, us as Coltrane had everything delivered in a silver platter to us.

Oh, boy were they wrong...

On the contrary every single action, thought and word were judged, we had to think twice before we did everything for the actions could not only affect us but we could even end up dragging the entire pack down with us.

"I can't hold you any longer Dawn, your mother already texted me and let me tell you she is not proud that I dragged you out of your classes today." My dad said as his expression darken and I smirked knowing that my dad was already imagining the lecture my mother would give him once they got home.

I gave a sigh and gathered my bag opening the door before I turned back at my dad.

"Well, I loved this day so much daddy, I miss spending time like this." I told my dad before I hugged him and kissed his check.

He hugged me and kissed me back with a smile.

"I'll try to make more time princess, I promise." My dad said before I waved goodbye and walked into the Academy.

Knowing that I had at least fifteen minutes until my mom's class started I took my time slowly making my way through the hallways as I quietly hummed along to Snow Patrol, overall with the breakfast with my dad, the car talk, the job offers, and the amazing coffee I had drunk on my way here it was a great day and I was in a good mood; that was of course until I saw her.
