Harmony's P.O.V

"You're drinking your life away!" I heard Max, as he had insisted on me calling him, screaming me before I heard the glass shatter making me wince.

"As if you cared about me, I'm tired of this shit, you expect so many things from me, to become the perfect Alpha yet when it comes to making my own decisions you still treat me like a child!" Braden yelled, his voice still groggy, I knew that his hangover was still very strong.

"How can I now when you're clearly acting like one?" Max fired back making Braden growl in anger.

"Are they fighting again?" Hunter asked as he stood next to me, leaning against the double doors.

I nodded slowly as I heard their faint voices still arguing.

"Max came home drunk again last night, half of his face and most of his body is either covered in bruises or wounds, he got into a nasty fight last night yet he doesn't want to speak about it, he's so angry and grumpy at everyone." I said, and I couldn't hide the hurt in my voice.

For the past weeks, Braden had been acting out, he rarely attended school, he always went out at nights to drink and came home ridiculously drunk, all bloody and bruised. There was no point on denying that it bothered me to see that whenever Braden skipped school Mia was absent as well, that was far too much of a coincidence. Not to mention that Braden now completely ignoring me, he was always far too busy whenever I needed to speak with him, he paid me no mind to the point that it truly did seem like I was invisible towards him. In his own harsh way, Braden was slowly letting me know that I wasn't wanted nor needed here. Not even Dawn or Lucas could seem to reach out to him, for whenever Braden did attend the Academy, those rare moments where he would be seen in the Academy somehow Braden would still find a way to avoid all of us, he would be so absorbed with class work or whenever we thought we finally got him cornered Braden would still manage to disappear. As for being in the pack house Braden would completely be ignoring everyone, me being included and would be training endlessly or be busy with some minor pack matters. But it seems like today Alpha Max was finally feed up by his son's erratic and stupid behavior.

"I will not stand and see you throw your entire life to waste." Max said in a stern tone and Braden chuckled, he must still be drunk.

"As if you cared Dad, you let both your Luna and daughter leave you; you have only focused only on the pack neglecting your family." Braden said, and although he was partly right that was still a low blow especially for Braden.

"And I guess neglecting everything around you are no better? You are so keen on making the same mistakes repeatedly, so, son you have let me no choice but to take hands into the matter." Max told him in a stern tone.

"And what will you do? Punish me?" Braden said in a slight mocking tone, couldn't he see that he wasn't helping his case at all?

"Your behavior is not the one of a future Alpha, you have left me no other option truly. From now on you will assume the position of future beta, your brother Hunter will now be the future Alpha." Max said making me hitch my breath shocked.

"Wait, I'm what?" Hunter said as he pushed the double doors open making me stagger forward entering the room with him.

I felt my cheeks heat up in embarrassment as we were caught.

Braden growled angry before he started to leave completely furious while Hunter started to argue with his father.

"Braden, wait! Can I help?" I asked him as I grabbed his arm making him halt.

Braden met my gaze and I nearly gasped, I had never seen Braden's gaze like this so cold, distant and so lifeless, as if it wasn't really him no more.
