Braden's P.O.V

I watched Harmony from afar as she walked down the hallway until she reached her locker, once there she struggled for a bit until she was able to finally open her locker and started to put away some of her books, I gave a small chuckle as Harmony frowned, wrinkling her nose as she grabbed some of her notebooks, my mom had given us a large essay to be due in two days and I knew for a fact that Harmony was currently stressing over it.

"I honestly don't get what you see in her." A voice said next to me, I looked away from Harmony and stared at Mia who was currently wearing black skinny jeans and some weird top with several holes that barely covered anything but one thing I did noticed was that she had cropped most of her hair into a bob.

"What do you want Mia?" I asked in a cold tone as I noticed that she was currently glaring at Harmony.

"I want to understand, I want to know why even after everything you're still with her." Mia said as she looked at Harmony and then at me.

"Because I want to be with her, because I like being with her and she's my mate." And because I love her, but I knew that Mia nor anyone else needed to know this, at least not yet.

Mia met my gaze and smiled.

"Still, not of that should matter, especially now. You see Braden whenever I see you together I'm not quite convinced, because if you really had feeling for her as you claim then you would reject her and not mark her as yours." Mia told me.

I gave a scoff.

"And why would I so something as stupid as that?" I asked her, was she out of her mind?

"Because it's the right thing to do, at least for her." Mia told me.

"It's the best thing for Harmony or for you?" I asked her.

Mia glared at me.

"Don't flatter yourself Braden but I want you to really think about it, no matter how hard you train her, Harmony will never compare to a werewolf, she'll never be as strong or fast as us." Mia told me.

"I don't care about that." I told her and I really didn't.

"Well you should Braden, just think about it, there is no point in denying that she's a simple human, and you're an Alpha. Do you really think she'll give you strong pups, they won't be fully werewolves much less true Alphas and you know that Braden so after you who exactly will take over the pack? Not to mention that other werewolves will not treat her as their equal because she isn't, and during fights, are you willing to place your pack in danger to protect your mate who can't fight for herself? At the end of the day Braden you are an Alpha so you should act as such and put your pack first." Mia told me and I frowned.

"My pack understands my current situation with Harmony besides I am the one who will protect her." I told her.

Mia gave a small chuckle.

"We both know you can't protect her from everything, and as an Alpha you have lots of enemies, rogues and Alphas who will try to kidnap, torture, rape and even kill Harmony just because she's with you. So, if you really do love Harmony do her a favor and stay away, leave her before she's too deep into this mess and it's too late for her." Mia told me before she walked away.

And as much as I hated to admit it Mia had a point and she was right.

"Are you okay Braden? You're been standing there staring blankly for the last five minutes." Harmony said grabbing my attention as she stood in front of me.

"Sorry, I guess I was in deep thought." I told her.

Harmony chuckled in amusement as she brushed some strands of hair out of her face, today Harmony was wearing her black converse, her faded blue jeans and a white sweater, she truly resembled utter perfection.
