Braden's P.O.V
"What the hell are you doing?" My sister asked as she stepped into the office.
I looked up from my papers to find Dawn glaring at me, I gave a tired sigh, no matter what my sister had always tried to avoid being in this office since the official pack matters and my father's business had never appealed to her so now seeing my sister here by what seemed to be her own will wasn't exactly a good sign.
"I don't know if you're aware of this Dawn but I'm working." I said earning another sharp glare from her.
"Is that what they call it now? I thought that was being a coward, isn't that what you have been doing lately, just hiding from your problems? Don't you think that there are more important things that need to take care of." Dawn said and I raised an eyebrow at her.
"That was a low blow Dawn, but what important thing, such as what, your wedding? Do you need help with the reception and the invitations and all? I thought mom was helping you with that." I said as I picked the papers that my father had given me, they were the possible agreement to a merger our company would have with another one, the company we were considering was big but it was nearly in bankruptcy, yet I knew for a fact that there was so much we could still manage to save, restore and invest which was why I wanted my dad to consider it buying it instead of having a simple merger the company would grow under out supervision.
"I spoke with Harmony this morning." Dawn said in a soft voice, instead of meeting her gaze I looked down and went over the agreement.
"Dawn, with dad stepping down as Alpha and me working more over the family's business I really don't have time to waste." I said coldly not sparing her a glance.
There was a dead silence and once I thought that my sister would retreat and leave me alone she spoke.
"That's it? You're just going to ignore the fact that I just told you I spoke to Harmony earlier?" Dawn said and by the sharpness in her tone I could tell that she was very angry.
I gave a small groan before I put the papers down and away.
"Fine, how is she?" I asked and Dawn frowned, probably taken back by my reply.
"It's been almost a month now Braden, are you trying to prove some stupid point? It's clear that you and Harmony are miserable without each other, you're not the same without her. I'm worried, the pack's worried, hell mom is a fit of nerves and fears because of this, she worries that without your mate, without Harmony you'll lose your sanity and your wolf." Dawn said as she walked closer until she was standing in front of my desk.
"I'm fine, you have nothing to worry about." I told her trying to dismiss the entire matter.
"Are you sure you are fine Braden because ever since Harmony left all you've done if bury yourself with work, do you ever leave this office anymore? Besides I may be all sorts of things dear brother but I am certainly not a fool, you're my twin, I've spent the last nineteen years of my life next to you so I know you better than no one and I know just how hurt and shattered you are. Don't you think I don't notice at night how you and your wolf twist and scream in agony? Why are you doing this to yourself? Is this all even worth it?" Dawn asked as she got close to me and held my face in her hands so I would be forced to meet her gaze, she was crying.
"It is all worth it if it means that Harmony will be safe, if she were to stay here rogues or other packs would have tried to hurt her, to kill her just to get to me. The further she is away from me the better." I said as I stood up and Dawn frowned before she started hitting my chest.
