Lucas' P.O.V

"I still can't apologize enough for what happened earlier, I can only imagine what it must've looked like." My beautiful mate said as she bit the inside of her cheeks as she got flustered due to the embarrassment.

"It's alright Dawn, you said it yourself, Cassandra was fighting unfair and it was merely self-defense, an odd technique I never seen before but nevertheless it worked." My uncle Kiev said as we sat down for a private dinner per his request.

Instead of being completely rude and against Dawn living with us like I initially thought his reaction would be my uncle for once was being civil and polite, almost as if he was pleased that soon Dawn would be joining our pack.

"Still, that doesn't justify my behavior. I am a guest here and it was out of place, I can only imagine Cassandra's reaction once she gains consciousness." Dawn said nervously before I reached out and held her hand under the table, this made her smile at me.

"You should not worry about that." My mum told her as we continued to eat.

Soon after dinner was over the chaos started, we heard the footsteps first and then her screams.

"Where is she? I am going to kill that bitch!" Cassandra screamed as she made her way into the dining room.

Dawn stood up, ready to confront Cassandra but I immediately placed her behind me, sure, she had been one of the few people that had defeated Cass, but Dawn didn't know what Cassandra could do when she was pissed off; especially since my uncle was here, out of everyone from the pack he favored her so much.

"Cassandra stop, you will behave!" My uncle roared as he stood up.

Cassandra stared at my uncle astonished that for once he wasn't taking her side.

"She used her budju powers on me while we fought." Cassandra said as she glared at Dawn who was behind me.

"And shifting into your wolf form during a human battle is fair? Since when are you weak enough during fights that you need help from your wolf?" I asked Cassandra who simply scoffed and rolled her eyes in response.

"Know that this behavior will not be tolerated, nothing you say or do will justify you if you attack Dawn, she is your future Luna so treat her as such." My uncle said before he stepped out of the house with Cassandra behind him.

We all stayed there stunned, Dawn met my gaze sill not believing anything that had just happened while my mom stayed there in silence.

"Did that really just happen?" Dawn said still shocked.

"Hey, ignore it, Cassandra is insane and everyone knows how much of a bitch she can be towards people. But do you want to get your mind off things and go out for a run around the pack's territory?" I asked her.

Dawn frowned in deep thought before her sapphire eyes looked at me hesitating.

"I rather not shift into my wolf form right now, it might not be a good idea." Dawn said as she leaned into me and I wrapped my arms around her.

"Then how about we go to the forest for a small walk, I know a lake that is nearby." I suggested and she simply nodded.

"Don't be outside for too long, and please Lucas, be careful." My mom called out before we left the house as well.

"You know, I could get used to this." I said as Dawn stepped out of the bathroom wearing my white shirt, her black pajama bottoms and not a single trace of makeup on, she was truly a sight to look at.
