Harmony's P.O.V
There was complete silence until I finally spoke, I knew that at moment I didn't know anything about the matter but for once I wasn't lost.
"A vixen, isn't that like a siren? In the books, Mrs. Coltrane let me read I learned that Vixens would usually find a prey and leech on it, they attach themselves to their victims, controlling them and taking all their strength until they get what they want or they're dead." I said slightly confused, had this woman that Braden had talked about be the reason that drove both Mrs. Coltrane and Dawn out of their own home?
"Great as if we needed something more to worry about." Braden said under his breath.
"That's not all, Braden you'll have to take more pack responsibilities now that Victoria is going to be around more, you see this isn't the first time your father deals with a vixen." Abby told him as she slightly looked at her husband Zac.
"What do you mean it's not the first time?" Braden asked confused, he wasn't the only one.
"Remember the time your father cheated on your mom?" Abby asked him.
"When, a couple of months ago or the first time? You ought to be more specific Aunt Aggs." Braden said as he frowned.
Angel who had been silent for most of the time gave a sigh.
"I'm going to raid the kitchen for some food, it seems like this is going to take a while." Angel said before she stepped out of the living room.
Zac sat down and looked at us.
"When your parents found out that they were mates there was this one girl after your father, well after his Alpha title and pack just like Victoria is right now, her name was Britney, as a vixen she made your father believe that he had cheated on your mom when he didn't. She used her powers so in your father's and your mother's mind he had cheated on her, when reality was he never did, she made them see something that never happened." Abby told him.
"You sound so sure Aunt Aggs." Braden commented.
"Your father never cheated on your mom Braden, if he had really cheated like Britney implied your parents' mate bond would've broke, when Liam took your mother and tried to mark her he would've succeeded and you and your sister wouldn't have been born. Braden, your father has never cheated on your mother and I fully believe that he never will." Abby said meeting his gaze.
"If dad didn't cheat then why did mum leave?" Braden asked confused.
Abby looked at us and gave a sigh.
"Just because your father didn't cheat that doesn't make the problems between your dad and mum nonexistent. I just want you to keep your guard up especially around Victoria and that annoying blonde brat. I believe her name is Mia." Abby said and I frowned confused.
"What does Mia have to do with this?" Braden asked lost and my heart started to race already fearing for the worst.
"Well because Mia is a vixen and she already has her eyes on you." Abby said but before any of us could say something about it Jake walked in carrying a small ball of fur between his hands.
"Sorry I'm late but I found this pup alone, his mum was dead so I brought him along." Jake said as he showed us the small brown wolf.
"Dude, you're out of hot Cheetos. Can you go get some tonight for-?" Angel started saying as she walked in the room but stopped once she noticed Jake, she stared at him shocked, in awe and even a little bit of fear.
"See this is exactly why I didn't want her to come with us." Zac told his wife who simply shook her head amused by his reaction.
I looked at Braden confused.
"Did I miss something?" I asked softly as the silence started to grow.
Braden looked at them with a smirk before he answered.
"They're mate."
Dawn's P.O.V
"I don't think this is such a good idea anymore, I think I was mainly driven by my emotions that I didn't think the entire thing through." I said as Lucas pulled over on the driveway of his pack house.
"You have nothing to worry about sweet cheeks, you'll be fine." Lucas said trying to make me feel better.
"What about your mom and your uncle, what do they think about this?" I asked him, what if they were completely against it?
After all, Lucas wasn't the Alpha yet.
"They'll be fine with it, you are my soul mate not some random chic I'm bringing over besides they will be gone until the end of the week so we got a few days for you to settle in." Lucas said as he smiled at me.
I still found so surprising how a simple reassuring look or a small smile, even a single touch from Lucas could calm me down, could make all my fears and doubts vanishing in seconds.
I nodded slowly still completely overwhelmed by my own nerves, I had after all left my home, left my pack and left my family, there was no going back after this not unless mum came back but until then this pack would be my home, or even then maybe I would never return, after all Lucas was my soul mate, this was bound to happen eventually, after all our rightful place was next to each other as the team and couple we were meant to be. I got out of the car and followed Lucas into the house, the gravel crushed under my ankle boots as I walked, unlike my home that was in the open by the beach Lucas' pack house was deep into the forest, everything here seemed so gloomy and dark, also the uneasiness it spread was also something that would always tip me off, their pack was different from mine, I was not used to the beliefs, or the way this pack of former rogues worked.
After Lucas helped me place my two small suitcases in the living room, he looked around at the empty house.
"Well, let me go get some of the pack members so they can great you and we can start with a small meeting to welcome you." Lucas said with a grin before he rushed out of the house.
Although the circumstances of why I left my house weren't the best choosing to come with Lucas was the best idea, since the first moment I called him crying about my mum leaving, Lucas had been nothing but very supportive. I just hoped that once he found out about my past he would understand me and still be by my side.
I looked around the living room, this house practically resembled a castle, yet everything seemed so cold and dark, I noticed that Lucas' mom had tried to brighten up the place to give it a cozier vibe but there were so much flowers, picture frames and small décor could do.
"Great my morning is now ruined, what the hell are you doing here?" Cassandra said as she stepped into the living room and noticed me there.
"I'm just waiting for Lucas." I said with a small shrug, saying that Cass disliked me was a huge understatement and I knew that very well.
"Why are there suitcases here?" She asked confused.
"Haven't you heard, I'm going to be the new addition to the pack, we might even be roommates." I said with a fake smile.
Cassandra stared at me blankly before she started to laugh.
"A snobby spoiled princess like you won't last in a pack like ours." Cass said with a smirk.
I looked at her and frowned.
"You sound absolutely positive on that." I told her.
"That's because I'll make sure you won't, by the end of the month you'll be out of this pack, mark my words." Cassandra said before leaving making me scoff in response.
"Challenge accepted." I said as I watched her leave.
