Fletcher teleported into skulduggery's living room to see Valkyrie lying on the sofa listening to music. "You wanted to talk to me?" Fletcher asked after Valkyrie had noticed he was there and took out her earphones. "Yes" she said and stood up. "What is it Val?" He asked as he looked at her worried facial expression. "I can't do this anymore" she said and rubbed her upper arm. "Do what?" He asked. "This. Us going out"
"What! Did I do something wrong?"
"No. It's not you it's me"
"What does that mean?"
"I kinda like someone else"
"What? Are you cheating on me?"
"What! No way! I would never do that. It's just I've liked this other person for a while and I don't feel it's right to keep dating you"
"Who is it?"
"I can't tell you. I'm so sorry fletch" she said and looked at the ground. Fletcher hesitated before taking a step towards her and reaching for her arm. She took a step back and shook her head "goodbye Fletcher Renn" she said and then bolted upstairs.

"Val? You ok?" Asked skulduggery as she ran past him on the stairs and then carried on down to look at fletcher. He tilted his head as if to say he was frowning. "What's wrong with her? What did you do?" Skulduggery asked and came and sat on his sofa. "I didn't do anything. She just broke up with me" fletcher said and then suddenly looked really depressed. "Why?" Asked skulduggery. Fletcher shrugged "I don't know. She said she likes someone else." Skulduggery stood up and walked over to him. "Likes someone else?" He asked. Fletcher nodded "she said 'It's just I've liked this other person for a while and I don't feel it's right to keep dating you'." He said and put his hands on his face and shook his head. "Well I'll go talk to her ok?" Skulduggery asked and fletcher jumped up and nodded his head up vigorously "thanks skulduggery" fletcher said and teleported.

After fletcher had teleported home, skulduggery walked up to Valkyries room and knocked on the door. When there was no answer skulduggery knocked again and asked "Valkyrie? Can I come in?" There was a noise so he took that as a yes and opened the door to see Valkyrie sitting on her bed with her back to him. "Hey Val I just talked to fletcher. He said you broke up with him. Apparently you like someone else. That true?" He asked and came and sat next to her. She nodded her head and looked at him. "Who is it?" He asked and nudged her side. She blushed and stood up. "What? Did I say something wrong?" He asked as she started to pack a bag. "What are you doing?" He asked and grabbed her arm before she left the room with the bag. "I'm going to stay at Gordon's for a while" she whispered and escaped from his grasp and ran from the room and down the stairs. "Why?" He asked running behind her. But she didn't answer all she did was pick her phone of the table and run out of the house. Skulduggery ran after her quickly catching up with her and grabbed her arm. She turned to him with tears in her eyes "let me go!" She cried and he let go and stepped back. "Let me go" she repeated and slowly backed away before turning and sprinting down the road and around the corner.

You left him standing there. Did you feel his hurt? I did. It was delightful. This only made Valkyrie run faster and ignore the burning pain in her lungs.
