The reflection looked out of the window in Valkyries room and smiled. "What a nice day" she smiled to herself and turned to look at the rest of the room. She sat on the bed and picked up Valkyries phone.

She scrolled through the contacts shaking her head. "Oh Val why do you have your dead parents phone numbers still? You weirdo!" She giggled and deleted the numbers. She then placed the phone back on the table and walked back over to the window. She looked out to see the shiny black Bentley pulling up outside of the house. She grinned to herself as she watched skulduggery and Valkyrie walking into the house holding hands.

Valkyrie and skulduggery walked into the house. Skulduggery went and sat on the sofa while Valkyrie stayed by the door and stretched. "I think I'm going to go change" she said through a yawn. Skulduggery looked at her and nodded "ok" he said and she smiled and went upstairs.

She walked into her bedroom and to her dressed where she picked up her brush and brushed the knots out of her hair before pulling off her t-shirt and jeans. She then looked up at the mirror and smiled to herself "I love my life" she said quietly. She stretched but then stiffened as someone hit her on the back of the head and everything went black.

Skulduggery was reading the newspaper when he heard a cry and a thud coming from upstairs. "Valkyrie? You ok?" He called up to her. Silence. He was about to get up and check on her when he heard movement then "yeah i just stubbed my toe on the dresser! I'm good!" Valkyries voice called down. "Ok!" Skulduggery called and went back to his newspaper.

Valkyrie came down then stairs and then stopped walking when she saw skulduggery looking at her with his head tilted. "What?" Valkyrie asked. Skulduggery stood up and walked over to her and grabbed her left arm. "How did you get that bruise?" He asked quietly. Valkyrie looked down at her arm and then back at skulduggery "um... I walked into... the wall?" She said very unconvincingly. Skulduggery nodded and then turned and sat back down. "Actually i might go to bed" she said and laughed awkwardly and scratched the back of her neck. "You sure?" He asked. Valkyrie nodded and skulduggery nodded back "ok sleep well Val" he said and she smiled a small smile and then jogged upstairs.
