Skulduggery walked down the road of destruction and over to the hat on the floor. He picked it up and angled it so it covered his eye sockets. "Valkyrie where are you?" He muttered to himself and began walking again. He hadn't found any of his friends yet and he was starting to get worried. "Roarhaven isn't that big. I should have found them by now" he said as he reached the building that used to be the sanctuary. "I wonder if there are still people in there" he said and decided to check for survivors.

Skulduggery walked down the ruined corridors and checked every room but there was no one alive left to help. "If I was darquesse where would I be? Probably roaming the streets looking for people to taunt" he muttered and decided to go back outside and check the town again.

He walked back outside and put his arms down by his side's and pushed at the air so he was propelled into the air. He landed softly on a roof and decided that this would be a better view to use to find anyone. "Hello?" Called a familiar voice form the street bellow him. "Hello?" He called back and jumped off of the roof and used the air to lower him down. (I know he just got on the roof but you know. I just couldn't be bothered for him to be just walking around the roof's for a while)

When he landed he looked around. He looked over and saw someone in a dark alley looking at him. He tilted his head as he watched the figure walk into the light. "Finally" she breathed and smiled at him. Skulduggery nodded to her and then she looked down the road and then back at him. "Skulduggery look out!" She screamed and ran into him and pushed him away. Skulduggery staggered back and then heard a gunshot. He whirled over to Valkyrie and saw her scream and then fall to the ground and didn't move. "No!" He roared and looked over to darquesse who was laughing her head off. In her hand she held one of skulduggery's guns. It must have slipped out of its holster when the explosion happened. He began to run over to Valkyrie but then got flung back by darquesse. "She's dead skulduggery. Can't save her now" she laughed and then threw the gun at skulduggery's head and he slumped back. Unconscious.
