Chapter 15: Who's Grace?

I got up and went over to my desk. The name Grace showed on the screen of my phone, so I quickly picked up.

*Phone Call*

"Grace? Is everything okay?"

She giggled. "Everything's fine, can't I just chat with my cousin for a bit?"

"Of course you can! Sorry you know how protective I get over you guys, especially Natalia."

"I sure as hell know that. Is she there with you? I really want to talk to her."

"She's at the shooting range right now, but you'll get to see her soon, don't worry."

"What do you mean?"

"Did you really forget about the annual ball?"

"Shit, I can't believe I forgot."

I chuckled. "So, how's school? Boys are keeping their distance from you, right?"

She let out a slight sigh. "Why is it that all of you Garcia men are overprotective?"

"Because us 'Garcia men' don't need anyone hurting our family, or loved ones." I said followed by a chuckle.

"Alright. Oh, about the ball, can I bring a plus one?"

"Of course, Grace, but your guest can't know about us. If they ask we all work in business or something, alright?"

She let out a slight giggle. "I don't think I can ever imagine you guys as business men, and I know. I'll see you guys then."

"Alright. Bye, Grace."

"Bye, Fernando." Once she hung up I put my phone back down on my desk.

I went and sat back down next to Alex. He continued trying to look for something on his laptop about Nikolai and Ivan.

"Who's Grace?" Jake asked.

"Remember my uncles daughter?"

"Oh yeahh, the one in high school?"

"Yup, that's Grace."

"Ahh, okay, I remember now. I bet you twenty bucks her plus one will be a guy."

"You're funny. I bet you it's her best friend." I said as I got up and walked towards my desk.

"Alright, deal." Jake said with a slight chuckle.

I started filling some papers out when Natalia and the girls came back from the shooting range. The girls sat down next to Mateo and Alex while Natalia sat on the desk.

"How'd it go?" I asked, smiling once I looked up from signing a few papers.

"Amazing! Camila and Victoria even tried. For their first time holding, aiming, and shooting a gun they did pretty well."

"Would you look at that. I'm dating a badass."

Jokingly, Victoria flipped her hair. "Sweetheart, please. You've always been dating a badass." Soon the room filled with laughter.

Victoria and them were in their own conversation when I decided to let Natalia know Grace called. They've become really close over the last couple of years.

"Grace called."

"What did she say?! Please tell me she's coming to the ball."

I chuckled as she became excited that Grace called. "She's coming, but apparently she's bringing a guest along with her, too."
