Chapter 23: Jake's Date

That's right, this is Jake and Rachel's date. I wasn't going to leave you guys hanging, so here it is! 😊

*Jake's POV*

I left the base early to get ready for my date with Rachel. I still feel bad for accidentally spilling coffee on her blouse, but I'm kind of happy I did. If I didn't accidentally spill coffee on her blouse... I wouldn't be going on a date with her in a few minutes.

I finished showering, slipped on my suit, combed my hair, and put a tiny bit of cologne on. I don't understand how some guys can spray practically an entire bottle. It's not a shower in a can.

Once I finished, I unplugged my phone from the charger, and dialed her number.

*Phone call*

"Hello?"

God her voice is so angelic.

I snapped back into reality. "Rachel?"

"Hi, Jake."

"Seven is still fine, right?"

"Yeah, I'll send you my address right now."

"Perfect. I'll be there soon."

"Okay, I'll see you in a bit."

*End of phone call*

Not going to lie... the last time I was on a date was my senior year of high school, so I'm a bit nervous right now. I grabbed my keys, and closed the front door behind me as I went towards my car.

I got in, but just as I was about to turn the car on, I leaned my head back, and took a deep breath.

Relax, and just be yourself...

I turned the car on, put her address into the GPS, and drove off.

Once I got out of the car, I made my way up the small amount of steps, and knocked on her door as I patiently waited for her to answer. She opened the door, then walked out.

She was wearing a tight, dark blue dress that stopped right below her knees, along with some silver heels.

I looked at her up and down, taking in each and every detail about her. She's absolutely gorgeous.

She cleared her throat, causing me to snap back into reality. I look up and into her eyes as she stared back at me with a smirk.

"Are you done checking me out, Jake?" She giggled.

I sheepishly rubbed the back of my neck, then let out a short, nervous chuckle.

"Should we start heading towards the restaurant?" I asked.

"Yeah." She smiled.

I held my hand out for her as she gladly placed her hand in mine. I led her towards the passenger side of the car, then opened the door for her.
