Something wasn't right... Something had gone wrong. She could just feel it. Ivy had been minding her own business, beating a bunch of twelve year olds at Revenge of Revolutions online, when she had gotten an odd text from her best friend.

5:52 PM

Hey, Ivy?

What's up, Jules?

Er... I think I might be okay with dating...

I'm flattered, Jules, but I've got a boyfriend.

Hah! Very funny, Ives. You know I wasn't talking about you.

Haha I know. But seriously, why do you say that?

I don't know. I just feel like it might be okay.

Okay, we'll have fun with that. In my experience dating is alright, except Anthony get jealous kind of easily. Jealously's a bitch.

Er... Thanks for the advice.

On a completely unrelated subject, do you think Romeo still might have feelings for me? Just curious...

Oh my Voldemort! You want to date Cameron! I take it your date is going well?

Who said anything about me liking Romeo? I was just curious... And it's not a date!

Whatever... But he's totally into you. Head over heels.

There was no response.

It was forty minutes later she had gotten a call. A call from Mrs. Hunter.

"Hello, Mrs. H?" Ivy said into her phone, letting the character on her screen get paralyzed by a magic spell.

"Yes, Ivy, Julie just got home early. She seems quite upset and won't talk to anyone right now. I think she needs her best friend right now. Could you come over? I hope that's not too much trouble." Mrs. Hunter sounded worried. That was when Ivy got the bad feeling. Something was definitely wrong.

"No of course not. I'll be right over." Ivy said as she logged out of her game. Jules needed her best friend.

Ivy grabbed her green jacket and screamed at her sister, "Tell Dad I went to Julie's!" And exited the front door.

Within five minutes she had hopped in her car, drove to her best friend's house, and entered 37 Vienna Drive. She had been over so many times in the past it was basically her second home, so she didn't knock.

"Thank goodness you're here, Ivy. Julie won't talk to anyone. We are really worried about her. Maybe you can get some information out of her?" Mrs. Hunter sounded extremely concerned for her daughter. Ivy nodded and smiled, barely. She too was concerned.

"Of course, Mrs. H. I've got ways to make her talk." Ivy attempted to joke. Mrs. Hunter gave a weak smile.

"Thank you, Ivy." Mrs. Hunter told the girl who was basically her third daughter.

Ivy ran up stairs to Julie's bedroom. The door was closed.

"Jules," Ivy knocked. "Can you please talk to me? Pretty please?" Ivy said in a manner most unlike her self.
No answer.

"Please, Jules?" Ivy asked.

Still no answer.

Ivy jiggled the doorknob. It was locked.

Ivy sighed. "Fine, it looks like we're going to have to do this the hard way." Ivy pulled out the hair pin she always kept on her for such occasions. She jammed it into the knob and wiggled it in a specific motion. After a few attempts there was a click and Ivy was allowed to enter the room.

Ivy scanned around the room. Julie was no where to be found, but the window was open. Ivy sighed once more.

"Jeez, Jules. It's raining outside. What do you think you're doing?" Ivy mumbled to herself, before climbing on Julie's bed and out the window.

There she was. Sitting on the roof with her knees hugged tightly to her chest was Julie. Her faced was flushed with fury and her golden hair hung in wet strings, sticking to her face. Her eyes and nose were red and she was soaked to the bone, despite the fact that the rain had stopped over ten minutes ago. Ivy frowned. She hated to see her best friend like this.

"Julie?" Ivy spoke quietly, scooting over to sit next to Julie on the wet roof. Julie often went there to think and Ivy was very familiar to sitting by her side and talking. "Are you okay?"

Julie looked up at Ivy. "I-I don't know. I just know that I'm upset and pissed at Romeo. Ugh, Romeo! Who does he think he is?" Julie hissed, mostly to herself.

"Uh oh..." Ivy mumbled. Romeo screwed something up. Yikes! Julie sounded really mad. "What happened, Jules?"

"He took me to see my father in jail! I never want to see that asshole ever again!" Julie mumbled.

"Which one? Cameron or your dad?" Ivy attempted to joke. She quickly shut her mouth when she realized now was not the time.

"Both," Julie grumbled. She sighed. "Okay I'm not that mad at Cameron. I just can't believe he would do that! I can't believe..." She went quiet. "I can't believe I actually thought I actually might like him." Julie muttered softly, hugging her knees even more tightly.

"Oh!" Ivy said with a surprise realization. Julie was hurt, because she actually liked Cameron. She had let herself trust him and even liked him. She must have felt even more betrayed.

Ivy wrapped an arm around her friend. Normally she wasn't a hugger, but she made an exception for Julie's case.

"Julie, what he did absolutely crossed the line. He broke your trust and that absolutely isn't okay." Ivy sighed. Julie wouldn't like what she was going to say next. "But maybe, maybe he's got a point. He clearly did that for a reason and while he over stepped his boundaries, maybe he had a good reason. I just think you want to keep that in mind."

"I don't know if I can forgive him. I'm just so upset that he would-" Julie balled her hands into fists.

"And you have your right to be. He broke your trust immensely. I just think you want to keep in mind what was going through his head. I don't think you should throw away your friendship over anything, even this." Ivy tried to be reasonable.

"How can I just go back to being his friend after this? I can't!"

"No obviously you're going to need some time. Just keep in mind his motivations. He probably just wanted to help you." Ivy advised. "No come on. Let's get you inside. I can't be the reasonable one for any longer." Ivy joked. Julie smiled weakly and nodded. They got off the roof and out of the cold.
