It was a knock on the door that caused Romeo to stir. He felt Julie do the same.
"What are you two doing?" His uncle's voice was clear and close. Romeo bolted up. Julie copied him, her face a bright red.
"I swear we didn't do anything!" Julie exclaimed, embarrassment clear in her voice and body language.
"She's wearing your sweatshirt, kid." Nick stated.
"Yeah but that was the only thing that was removed." Romeo gulped.
"Whatever you say." Nick rolled his eyes. He believed them, but as an uncle he had to give the kid a hard time. "I just thought I'd let you know that your brother's here, Julie."
Julie leaped to her feet. "I should probably go then." She began grabbing her stuff.
"And your mom is here too." Nick told the teen boy.
Romeo got up too. "Well it was nice to have you, Julie. I hope it helped."
"Yeah I think it did." Julie began downstairs.
Kate Cameron was waiting with a familiar redhead girl. They were sitting on the couch talking about something over a piece of paper.
"Also Ivy's here." Nick smirked.
"Ivy, what are you doing here?" Julie wondered, internally groaning. It was rarely a good thing when Ivy shows up unannounced, unless it was Julie's house because Ivy did that frequently.
"She was just discussing a little matter with us." Kate said.
"In fact we were just finishing up. Thank you for your time and I'll be on my way now." Ivy had a familiar evil glint in her eyes. She made her way to the door.
"Did you do it?" Ivy whispered to Romeo as she passed him. It was a useless whisper as it was just loud enough for everyone to hear.
"No." He mumbled, honestly.
"Well I guess I'll see you at school tomorrow, Cameron." Ivy said his name with the tang of mischief dripping onto her tongue. This worried him. What did she have planned?
"See ya." He gulped.
The girl disappeared through the door. Julie turned to look at Romeo. She wanted ask what Ivy had meant by 'did you do it?'. She decided not to ask.
"Well I guess I'd better go too. Thanks for the help. Uh see you at school tomorrow." Julie made the quick decision, her face still burning a bright red, to say goodbye with a peck on the cheek.
Romeo grinned. "Uh talk to you later."
"Yeah... Bye!" Julie hid her face as she exited through the door. She had to stop doing that! But she really didn't want to.
Neither one of them remembered that Julie still was wearing his favorite scarlet hoodie.
Romeo must have stared at the door for at least a minute after she left, a stupid grin resting on his face.
"Earth to Romeo." His mother laughed.
"Huh? Oh yeah. Sorry." Romeo smiled a completely different smile. "Hi, Mom."
"I think we have a lot to talk about."
