He didn't manage to ask her out that Thursday. He decided that while studying for calculus was a better time to speak up. Then they would have absolutely no distractions.
She road the bus with him to his house. Half the time he couldn't pay attention to what she said because she was distracting.
She sat awfully close to him on the bus seat. Did that mean she liked him? Or was it because the seats were kind of small? Ugh, he knew when he was flirting but he had no clue what female flirting looked like.
She played with a strand of her blonde locks all Romeo could think was 'Is that flirting? Playing with hair is girl flirting, right?'
"Romeo, are you okay?" Julie wondered. "You look a little distracted."
"I'm fine." He gulped. Where was his cool? He had lost it recently and needed it back.
"Willyougooutwithme?"
"What?" Julie had not understood the gibberish that had left his mouth. His face reddened.
"Nothing!" He exclaimed. He sighed. Cool, remember? "It's nothing." He threw his arm around her, remembering how he acted when they had met for the first time in years. She surprised him by not shrugging him off.
The bus screeched to a stop. Romeo leapt to his feet. They were there! It was his stop.
Julie pulled him off and they walked the short distance to Romeo's house.
"Hey, kiddo." Nick greeted his nephew. He expression changed once he saw Julie. "Hello, Juliet."
"Hi, Mr. Cameron- Nick." Julie corrected herself. "Is it alright if Romeo helps me with calculus? We have a test tomorrow." Julie clutched her textbook tightly to her chest.
"That's fine, kids. Good on you studying." Nick smirked. "I'll be working in my office if you need anything."
"Okay we'll be upstairs." Romeo rushed to get to studying with Juliet. He began to pull her upstairs.
"No funny business, you two!" Nick shouted up at them as the climbed the stairs. Julie's face turned bright red and Romeo groaned.
"Ignore him." Romeo said as they entered his bed room door. "My uncle's a little weird... If you don't remember."
"Like you?" Julie giggled.
Romeo smiled. "Yeah, like me. Anyway shall we get started?"
