"Are you going to do it today?" Anthony wondered, cocking an eyebrow. Why was Romeo so bad at this?

"Yes I am- Oh shut up." Romeo saw this disbelief in his friend's face. "I will!"

"Okay, okay I get it!" Anthony laughed. "Go get her."

"Hey, Julie!" He strolled over to the blonde who was standing at her locker, trying to look confident. And it looked like she was talking to someone... Troy. Romeo's eyes narrowed.

"Hi, Cameron." Julie flashed him a panicked smile.

"So I was thinking maybe we could go out tomorrow?" Troy wondered.

"Oh... Yeah... Sorry, I have plans..." Julie smiled, uncomfortably. Romeo saw through her lie immediately.

"Yeah Julie's coming over to my house to study for the calculus test on Friday." Romeo flung an arm around Julie as he lied.

"Oh..." Disappointment wasn't well hidden on Troy's face. "I got to go..." Troy slowly walked away, still wanting to keep away from Romeo.

"Thanks for that." Julie turned to the hoodie wearing boy. He took his arm off her and she clutched a stack of notebooks to her chest. "Too bad that was just an excuse." Julie laughed. "I could actually use some help studying for the calculus test."

Okay here it was. "Hey, Julie," He began. She took a step closer. Her turquoise eyes glistened with hope as she prepared to listen to what he had to say. He gulped. "Do you maybe want to..."

"Yes," She urged him to continue.

"Study at my house tomorrow?" Different words than the ones he was preparing for fell from his lips. He winced. Was he really that cowardly?

Julie's shoulders slumped and she stepped back. "Oh... I thought you had plans tomorrow."

Oh right! His mom! "Well you can come over right after school and leave before dinner. I'm sure that'll be fine. She won't be there until six." Romeo stated.

"Sure, it's a date!" Julie smiled. "But you know, not actually a date. I mean... It's a plan!" Julie brushed a strand of blonde hair from her face as she tried to brush off the amount of awkwardness in her statement.

As she turned to walk away from him she stumbled, dropping her notebooks. Before she hit the ground a hand grabbed her by the arm. Romeo caught her holding her tightly and close.

"You're a bit of a klutz aren't you, Julie?" He teased.

Juliet blushed. "Er... Yeah- No I'm not!" She huffed.

"Suuuuure you're not." Romeo rolled his eyes. He bent down to help her. He noticed some scribbles on the inside cover of one of her red notebooks that drew his attention. He'd recognize that word in her handwriting anywhere. "Hey, Julie?"

"Yeah?" Julie replied as she collected the rest of the notebooks.

Romeo's face broke into a mischievous smile as he held up the red notebook.

"Why is my name written all over this front page?" He showed her. Indeed it was covered in graphite with Romeo written at least twelve times covering the page. Little hearts surrounded each one.

"I- uh..." Julie's face couldn't turn a brighter shade of red. "I got to go." She snatched the notebook from him and scampered down the hallway, trying to hide her embarrassment.

Romeo watched her go, scratching the back of his brown hair with a smile plastered on his face. Maybe she really liked him. Maybe she really liked him a lot. Maybe he really had a shot.

Well it looked like they were studying together!
