Monday morning came as it always did and with its arrival came a letter in Romeo's locker. Someone slipped a messily scribbled note into his green locker. It looked like it had been in there since Friday. The messy haired boy opened it up and read the note.
Romeo,
Oh crap, it was Rosie's handwriting. He could tell by the feminine swirly letters she was known for. They were the same swirly 'O's that were written on her P.E uniform.
I think it's about time we made it official.
Oh no. She was going to ask him to be her boyfriend! And he was going to have to look like a jerk.
I think we should see other people.
Wait, what?
Listen, I see the way you look at her! It took me way too long to realize that I'm not the girl you're into. I feel like a doofus for not realizing it sooner but, Romeo, you have to go after her. I must have finally realized it when Anna and I saw you two in the nurse's office. And I saw you two on St. Paddy's. And it sucks to realize your crush doesn't like you back, but hey we are teenagers with our whole lives ahead of us. We weren't ever meant to be.
His eyes scanned the paper as a smile formed on his face. Rosie didn't want to date him.
What's worse than realizing that your crush doesn't like you back? Not realizing that she does like you back and waste time! Julie clearly likes you! Don't let someone else steal her heart. Please, do it for me? And Julie and the entire school who apparently all are routing for you two. And now I am too. Go get your princess, Charming.
I guess I'm a sap.
I hope we still be friends!
Sincerely,
Rosie OwensSuddenly things were clear to Rosie. Romeo was trying to get over Julie. Instead Rosie was going to get over him. And she wanted him to actually ask Julie out.
He had to come up with a plan.
