It was after school. Julie was at home when she heard the doorbell ring. She walked downstairs into her living room to see Ivy had already invited herself in.
"Ivy, what are you-"
"Roof now!" Ivy grabbed her best friend and dragged her upstairs.
"What? Why?" Julie wondered as she was dragged to the window of her own room. Ivy crawled outside and Juliet followed anyways.
"We need to talk." Ivy told her friend.
"Yeah I got that. Talk about what?" Julie wondered.
Ivy sighed. "Do you remember how perfect life was when we were all friends? You know: you, me, Anthony, Eric, Mark, and Romeo."
Julie looked down at her hands. "Yeah, I do." She murmured.
"Why do you think Romeo did what he did?" Ivy asked.
Julie avoided her best friend's gaze some more. "I don't know. He said he wanted to help me, but I don't see how it was helping."
"He wanted you to stop running away from your problems. He thought some confrontation would be good to you. And honestly know that I look for it, I can see how he might have been right."
Julie scowled. "Ivy, how would you feel if someone tracked down your mom and tried to get you to talk to her."
"I would be p¡ssed, no doubt about it. But I'm not you and my mom is not your dad. And I don't run away from confrontation. Listen, I'm not saying what he did was completely okay, but he was willing to sacrifice your friendship with him to help you. And honestly maybe it would do you some good to tell your dad how badly he hurt you. To get all the things that you've wanted to tell him over the years out at him. Just think about it, okay?" Ivy told her best friend.
Juliet sighed. She didn't know what to do anymore.
