Romeo dreaded detention with Troy. He didn't care to talk to him and he want to be stuck with him for an hour after school. But Ms. Taylor had arranged it to be so.
So after P.E, which he noticed during of which Juliet had disappeared for some reason, he trudged over to Ms. Taylor's office. His legs felt like lead. Romeo almost couldn't bring himself to show up, but he did.
Romeo entered the office and slid into the chair next to Troy. They glared at each other.
Ms. Taylor smiled politely and brushed a strand of her light brown hair from her face.
"Good, you're both here!" She chirped. Romeo crossed his arms and looked away from both of them. "First, thing is first. Why'd you get in a fight in the first place."
Neither Romeo and nor Troy could keep their faces from turning a bright red.
"Dodgeball..." Troy muttered. Romeo nodded.
"What exactly caused you to fight over the game?" Ms. Taylor wondered.
Romeo fiddled with his hands. Was he really going to tell his counselor that Troy and him were fighting over a girl who didn't like either of them? That wouldn't make him seem pathetic or anything.
"We just don't like each other." Romeo muttered, smoothly. Troy agreed.
"You just don't like each other?" Ms. Taylor broke up every word, not believing what they claimed. "So this animosity between the two of you has no staking behind it? There was no reason for it?"
Romeo gulped. Perhaps it would be best to admit to his counselor that they both had had crushes on the same girl. Maybe it wouldn't seem as pathetic.
"So it just sprung out of nothing? You weren't fighting over friends or video games or... a girl?" Ms. Taylor suggested, slyly.
"You know?" Troy gasped.
"I guessed." Ms. Taylor shrugged. "Is it Juliet Hunter?"
"You are really good at guessing." Romeo muttered.
"I like Julie. Cameron is just a complete stalker." Troy commented.
"What was that?" Romeo jerked his head to glare a menacing glare at the dirty blond boy.
"You heard me! You watch her all the time, you're super possessive over her, and she's clearly not into you. You're more of a creep than anything else." Troy spat.
"Troy, stop. Okay so you both had a crush on the same girl." Ms. Taylor began.
"Yeah and I don't even like her like that anymore, so can I go?" Romeo lied, wanted to be done with it.
"Nope sit back down, Romeo. We still have thirty minutes." Ms. Taylor stated.
Romeo groaned and glared at Troy. It was his stupid fault they were here. He was the one who had been picking the fights.
Only thirty minutes to go.
