"Dudes," Ivy drew the attention of all her friends as she slid into her usual seat at their usual table. "Sign this!" Ivy flung a piece of paper into the middle of the table.
"What's this for, Ives?" Mark wondered.
"A... Project." Ivy stated. "Never mind. Target has arrived." Ivy stuffed the paper into her backpack as Romeo and Julie approached. Eric, Mark, and Anthony gave her weird looks.
"Did you just call us a target?" Julie wondered.
The redhead panicked. "I have to go. Cover has been breached." She hurried to stuff the piece of paper in her bag.
"She's meddling." Romeo scowled. Anthony sighed and nodded, knowing that Romeo was right. There was no denying it.
Romeo chased after Ivy, who was headed to her locker. He had to discuss her plans with her.
"You don't have faith in me." It wasn't a question. It was a clear as day statement.
"Why would you say that?" Ivy wondered, scattering papers across her locker as if she was looking for something.
"I'm going to ask her out. You don't have to meddle."
"I'm just Plan B, remember?" Ivy smirked.
"Then just let me ask her out. I don't need you meddling." Romeo folded his arms and glared at his red haired friend.
"Prove me wrong then." Ivy's evil smirk grew as she slammed her locker shut and turned to look Romeo straight in the eyes. Her green eyes had a demonic fire in them. Her smirk haunted him as she walked away, with that dare on his mind.
"Julie, I need to-" Romeo began as he found his way back to the table.
"Need to what?" Julie wondered.
"Well I was wondering if you maybe wanted to..." Romeo thought about what he wanted to say next, hard. Go on a date? Was that too forward? Go out sometime? Was that right? Hang out? That would be too informal and she probably wouldn't understand.
"Julie!" A familiar cheerleader exclaimed. Emily Baker rushed over to the table. "Did you read the new book?"
"Yes! Oh my gosh was it good! Jackson- oh my gosh! I can't believe-"
"I know!" Emily chirped.
Girls... He shook his head at them. They were strange beings.
Julie turned her head to him. "What were you going to say, Romeo?"
Romeo waved her off. "It's nothing. I'll talk to you later." Now was not a good time. Besides he still had two whole days.
Julie eyes him with a quizzical look on her face. "Alright... See you."
There was something going on with him.
