Julie sat with Emily and Alicia again, but this time Ivy followed her friend to the table. Sitting with the four of them was Troy, the new kid.
"I hope you don't mind that I invited Troy to hang out. He doesn't really know anyone and I'm supposed to show him around, because we have nearly all the same classes." Emily said honestly to the girls.
"That's fine." Julie smiled. She stuck out her hand to greet him. "I'm Juliet Hunter."
He smiled and took her hand. "Paris, Troy Paris." He introduced himself like James Bond.
Ivy simply waved at him. "S'up," She said causally. "I'm Ivy Collins."
"Hello," Troy said politely.
"So, Troy, where did you use to go to school?" Julie asked.
"Avalon Creek High," He shrugged.
"Why'd you move?" Ivy wondered.
"My parents wanted to be closer to their new jobs." Troy admitted.
"Oh cool. So what classes do you have?" Ivy interrogated, suspiciously.
"Er... Calculus, Art, Study Hall, English, Chemistry, History, and P.E." Troy stated. Ivy was asking him question after question like he was a prisoner being investigated.
"Art class? That sounds like it's a fun class." Julie pointed out when she had noticed Ivy had opened her mouth.
"It really is. Back at my old school it was my favorite class. But I don't know anyone who has it here." Troy shrugged.
"Yeah, Emily and I have Culinary Arts at the time and Ivy has wood shop."
"Hey, I have art second period." Alicia told him.
"Well then I guess I'll know someone at least." Troy grinned.
Meanwhile at their usual table, which was absent of all girls, the boys were talking about the new kid.
Anthony glared at the table where Troy and the girls sat. Mark noticed and rolled his eyes.
"Oh come on. You're not seriously jealous of the new kid, are you? He seems nice." Mark stated.
"He winked at Julie." Romeo grumbled.
"Emily's spent the entire day with him." Eric crossed his arms.
"Ivy seems to like him." Anthony growled.
Mark shook his head. "You're all pathetic. Just because he's an attractive guy who is spending some time with your girls doesn't mean he's going to steal them."
Romeo sighed. "Julie's not my girl though. And she probably won't ever be."
"What did you do?" Anthony asked.
"I screwed up bad. Let's just leave it there." Romeo told them.
"There are other girls." Anthony told him, although there was no one really like Julie. "Like Rosie Owens from P.E. She seems to be into you."
"Who?" Romeo asked, having been oblivious to the girl. Anthony face palmed. His friends shrugged and dropped the subject.
"Maybe he's nice." Mark suggested talking about the new kid.
"Maybe. Maybe he's gay." Eric suggested hoping that Troy wasn't into his girlfriend.
"Er... Maybe." Mark said. He highly doubted it, the way it looked like Troy was flirting with the girls. He decided not to point that out to his friends. "You guys excited for the hockey game on Friday? It sounds like it'll be fantastic, doesn't it?" Mark said changing the subject to something he knew would distract the guys. Romeo's eyes lit up at the mention of hockey and soon he went it a rant about the last game.
