Chapter Five

TORI'S POV

  I awoke remembering that we were going to go to Craig's Cruisers today. I got out of bed and walked downstairs to see Justin and Pattie sitting at the kitchen table.

  "Well good morning sleepy head," Pattie said.

  " 'Morning. What time is it?" I asked.

  "10:00. Do you want some breakfast?"

  "Yes please."

  "She's got manners, unlike you Justin."

  "It's only 10:00 and you already want to have a go at me." He put his arms up like he was offended. "Just kidding Mom."

  "Scooter will pick you up at noon to take you to Craig's Cruisers."

  "Aight," Justin said. I just ate and walked upstairs to shower, brush my teeth, etc. I walked across the hallway and into Justin's room because the door was opened and I heard loud laughing.

  "Hi," I said walking in.

  "Hey. Tori this is Ryan, Chaz, and Christian." Justin pointed to each of the boys as he said their names. "They might come to Craig's Cruisers with us, but I said that I had to ask you first because it was supposed to just be us two. Well us and Scooter."

  "It's totally fine. The more the merrier."

  Justin's phone rang. He handed the phone to me. "I think it's your friend."

  "Hello?"

  "Hey Tori. Can I talk to Justin?"

  "No you cannot talk to Justin you creeper!" I joked.

  "But she can come to Times Square on New Year's Eve and watch me perform!" Justin yelled.

  "Did you hear that Katie?" I asked.

  "No."

  "Justin, yell it again!"

  Katie must've heard it the second time because she was screaming so loud that I had to move the phone away from my ear.

  "Okay I have to go. So I'll talk to you later," Katie said without screaming.

  "Okay, bye Katie," I said while ending the call and handing Justin's phone back to him.

  Then the doorbell rang. "I'll get it," I said.

  "If it's a crazed fan don't answer the door," Justin yelled to me as I walked out the door.

  "Okay!" I told him.

  I walked downstairs and looked out the window. The girl looked a bit like Christian, so I thought it was safe to answer the door.

  "Hi. You must be Tori," the girl said as I opened the door.

  "Hi," I said a little uneasily.

  "Oh, I'm sorry. I'm Caitlin, Christian's younger sister. Justin told me about you."

  "Come on in. The boys are upstairs in Justin's room."

  I brought Caitlin upstairs and when Justin saw her, he ran his hands through his hair. "Uh hi Caitlin," he said.

  "Hey Justin."

  "Can we...uh...can we talk...alone?"

  "Sure."

  Justin and Caitlin walked into a guest bedroom to talk leaving me wondering what was going on between those two. "Why did they-"

  Christian cut me off by saying,"Caitlin and Justin dated before he got signed. They're just a year apart. But when he got signed, he said he wouldn't be able to see her anymore because he'd be traveling. Caitlin told him to follow his dream, so they've been just friends ever since. Whenever I mention Caitlin though, Justin blushes a little."

  "He's still in love with her, stupid!" Chaz said to Christian.

JUSTIN'S POV

  "Caitlin, I've wanted to tell you this for a while now. I'm- I'm still in love with you."

  "Justin, you know I still love you, too, but it would never work. You've got your career. You're supposed to be dating a celebrity who's rich and famous. Not me. I'm just normal, boring Caitlin Beadles."

  "But you're a celebrity in my mind."

  "And another thing, you just found out you have a little sister!"

  "What's that got to do with anything?" I asked confused.

  "My point is, do you think you have time for a relationship right now?"

  "Right now? I'm done with the My World tour, and I'm not planning on making new songs for a few months. As for Tori, I'll see her everyday after she gets home from school."

  "What about six months from now? What about a year from now? What are you going to be doing then? Better yet, where are you going to be?"

  "You ask a lot of questions. All of them I don't know the answer to right now. I just know that I want us to be more than friends."

  "I want that, too. But-" I cut her off by pressing my lips against hers. She pulled away.

  "I'm sorry. I just couldn't help it."

  "Give me some time to think about it, okay?"

  I nodded. "Let's go," I said while walking to the door.

  "Yeah. The boys and Tori are waiting," she agreed.
