Author's Note:

Hey, guys, I just wanted to let you know that I probably won't be updating as often since school is starting back up again. I'll try to update as often as I can:). Thanks for reading my story, it means so much to me!

(Oh, and Zach tweeted me earlier!! I'm still dying, haha:). Follow me @beekensbabe).

If you were wondering, Zach ate eggs, bacon, and chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. He told me himself.

CHAPTER 18

The Fault in Our Stars

"I like my choices. I hope she likes hers." ~Augustus Waters, The Fault in Our Stars

We pulled away, breathless, but grinning.

"I got it on camera!" Andrew screamed. I laughed. "I actually didn't think you were going to say yes," he said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Well, you said that you didn't want to date yet, but you let me kiss you and everything, so I wasn't really sure how you felt. I decided to just go for it anyway," Zach said. "It's a good thing I did," he said, and I smiled.

The next day, we had another concert. I wasn't as nervous this time, but I was still a little nervous. Tonight, I wore black jeans, a tank top, and heels. I performed, and it wasn't as great as my first show, but I have to admit, it felt great. I watched Zach, Colton, and Andrew perform, and then all of us were rushed into the tour bus.

I decided to go to bed right away- performing was tiring and I wanted to be refreshed for the new city.

I hopped into my bunk, and decided to read The Fault In Our Stars for a while. I only had about 50 pages left, and I just HAD to know what happened. As soon as I opened the book, I heard a knock.

"Katie? Are you there?" Zach asked.

"Yeah," I said and opened the curtain. "I'm just reading a little."

"Can I join you?" he asked.

"Sure," I said, and scooted over. He sat next to me. "I'm at the end of the book, though, so if I cry, don't laugh."

"Why would I laugh at that?"

"I don't know, my mom always laughs at me. When I read Allegiant, I cried three times and she was just sitting there laughing at me." He laughed. "It's not funny!"

"I know, I'm sorry." I started reading. I was right, I started tearing up. As soon as I read the last paragraph, I couldn't hold it in any more, and the tears just started pouring.

"Oh, Katie," Zach said, hugging me. That just made me cry harder. Apparently I was being really loud, because Andrew and Colton walked in with concerned looks on their faces.

"What's wrong?" Colton asked.

"I just-" I started, but was cut off by my own sobs. "She didn't deserve this. And then in the letter..." I sobbed again. "Why?" I cried into Zach's shoulder.

"The book," Zach said, holding it up. Realization crossed their faces.

"Ohhh," Andrew said. "Well, I mean, I've always said that everything happens for a reason. So, I'm sure that um, John Green wanted it to be that way."

"But... it's so sad," I sobbed.

"Well, you can't go through life without loss or sorrow," Colton stated.

"I know," I said. Zach rubbed my back until my sobs stopped. He pulled away and wiped my tears away.

"Better?" he asked, and I nodded.

"Alright, well I'll see you guys in the morning." Andrew said, and left. Colton followed.

"Can you stay?" I asked, my voice shaky.

"Of course," he said. He pulled me into his chest and starting humming, trying to calm me down. It worked, and I was asleep in minutes.
