|| Chapter 8 ~ Telling Him ||

I hadn't told anyone what I was doing. My driving test was quite scary but it always helps when Isaac is with me. Except now. I was alone on my way back to Dad. I couldn't handle it, all the panic rising inside of me. I had to tell him, even if it broke him. On and off the traffic lights flashed as my fingers kept tapping the steering wheel, trying to take away my worries. They stayed with me like a bad memory. Haunting me. I wished the cars would drive faster as so could I, the needing to tell my dad.

I pulled up on the drive way and I sat there. No lights. The engine was off. Frozen. Stuck. Panicking. 11:49pm. The lights in the house were off except for my dads. My hand slowly ,still shaking, moved to the seat belt. It was off and nothing was holding me back, only myself.

I dragged myself out of the car feeling floppy and dead. I clutched onto the door handle as I entered my key and turned it gently. Entering quietly making sure I had locked the front door behind me. The walls hadn't changed, nothing had. I walked up the stairs trying not to fall forward. I came to my dads room and I knocked gently on the door.
"Hello?" I heard my dad slur slowly. I nudged the door open a bit further so he could see me and I could see him.

"Hey..." he held his hand to his heart with relief. He had one book in one hand and a tea in the other. I walked over to his bed and say at the edge. The bedding felt soft against my finger tips not like the ones at home with Isaac.

"What's wrong? Why have you come to visit me so late?" He entered his bookmark in his book and set it down beside him. The warm tea had been put on the bedside table under the lamp.

"Uhh..." I wondered for my words.
Just get it out!

"Is it Isaac? Did he do something?" He jumped to a conclusion that made my eyes pop out.

"No, no!" I waved my hands in the air then ended up rubbing my eyes instead ",It's about Mum and Ryan..."

"Leora I know about their affair... it's okay!" He smiled reaching for my hands to hold.

"No.. its worse. You see, Mum and Ryan's affair had started before you had me..." his facial expression dropped ",They had a baby before me or Olivia. They then went and away back to their marriages, and a little girl named Riley was taken care by Ryan... her dad and my Mum is hers... after Olivia was born Ryan and Cheryl got a divorce and then Mum and Ryan got together and sent Riley away because she was too much."

He laid there speechless, unstable. Because of me.

"Leora... I had no idea. You have a half sister.." he seamed to be upset but tried to sniff it back. I felt my eyes to tear up and I leaped in for a hug.

We spent ages like that. Hugging. Talking. Crying. Then I had to go. I didn't tell Isaac or Ivy I was going anywhere.

Before I knew it I was back outside locking the front door. The cold doorknobs touch piercing my skin. I turned round and saw Isaac getting out of Levi's car. He ran towards me and I felt our bodies connecting. My tears slid out of me like a water fall.

"You really worried me..." Isaac whispered as we laid in his bed.

"I am sorry," I felt awful. Breaking my dads heart after there was hardly any left to break.

"Shhh... it's okay," Isaac held me close, keeping me safe.

What I had done was terrifying but how else could I have told my dad. It was 3:28am and me and Isaac were still awake talking about what had happened.

"Ivy was worried as hell as well," Isaac chuckled. We had dropped Levi's car off and thanked him but I didn't see Ivy.
