I Used To Wonder | BOOK 2 | COMPLETED

|| Chapter 23 ~ 'I Noticed A Small Black Box' ||

Winter was coming towards an end and me, Isaac, Riley or Cameron still hadn't come round to taking any photos. Not that Riley had not tried to get into mine and Isaac's dorm a few times.      
"Our first show starts in 5 minutes people!" I heard Riley shout.                                                                    
"Riley! Keep your voice down. The audience is out there, you mong!" Grian said in a loud whisper back to her. She seemed offended but then rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. I looked over at Isaac who looked like he was about to vomit.                               "Hang in there," I kissed his cheek and looked over at Harriette who actually looked like she had been sick ",Hey. Harriette are you okay?" She looked at me her face pale as paper.                   
"I don't think I can do this. Like, it was fine in rehearsals but now I feel really -," she bent over.      "Wow, wow," I caught her, "Harriette, you got this!" She nodded and gave me a weak smile. Music erupted from the speakers and  Harriette and her 2 small brothers entered the stage.

The audience applauded as Harriette hugged her parents and the lights went dark. She came skipping off the stage, tears in her eyes and her limbs shaking. I embraced her into a bear hug. Isaac and Riley came off the other side, Riley probably trying to give Isaac a hug. My insides were tingling I was so proud and happy. As the audience started to flood out of the theatre the cast came on stage and I faced my back to the rows of seats.                                                           "You did it, guys! You freaking did it!" We all cheered and gathered into a group hug.                          "After party at mine and Levi's!" Ivy cheered, Riley rolled her eyes at one of the brothers on set who ignored her. I smiled at Isaac and he wrapped his left arm around my sholders and kissed me on the forehead.

I was zipping my white dress when Isaac stepped in my room.
"Well hello Gorgeous!" He smiled at me.
I chuckled, "Says you, Handsome." I kissed him and linked my hands around this neck.
"I have a gift," he turned me round so I was now looking into the mirror looking back at myself. "Close your eyes," I did so. I felt a cold small chain go round my neck. As Isaac was trying to put it on me, I felt the ornament in the middle tickle me on the neck. "You can open your eyes."
I touched my neck and smiled. I opened my eyes and it was a silver necklace with a yellow crystal in the middle.
Isaac whispered in my ear, "I love you Sweet Cheeks, don't ever forget that."
"I won't."

We arrived at Levi and Ivy's dorm and Levi answered and hugged us both. "Nice to see you, come in." We stepped inside and I met Harriette who was wearing a poofy short pink dress.
"Hey!" She smiled.
"Well done! You were amazing!" I replied.
"Well..." she looked away.
"Are you joking?! You were spectacular!"
"Thank you for casting me."
I hugged Harriette and walked back to Isaac who was getting us both a drink. He gave me mine and I smiled at him. But it quickly faded. Riley was now standing in front of me.
"Oh hey, Leora and.... Isaac. You both did brilliantly," She touched my shoulder and walked off.
"She seemed she was in a good mood," Isaac looked down at me. I shook my head and looked forward and downed my drink. "Another one?" I nodded and I went to find Ivy.
I knocked on her bedroom door and I could hear her on her phone talking to someone. She seemed worried and stressed.
"Come in!" She yelled. I came through and smiled awkwardly. I shut the door behind me and kept my hands there.
She said goodbye to who she was talking to and she looked at me.
"Leora..."
"Ivy..."
"I have news."
"Sure," I said and stepped forward. I noticed a small black box was on Levi and Ivy's bed.
"Levi proposed."
"That's amazing!"
"Leora! You don't get it! Are we too young? I love him so so much it's unbelievable. My heart is pounding. I was so overwhelmed. I mean we are basically in the middle of the second year at College and next year me and you are going to Uni..."
"If you love him..."
"I do! I mean we are 20! Well I am... you are in a couple months. But it seems to be moving too fast!"
"You can ask Levi to postpone the wedding until you finish Uni because then you will be 22! Perfect, right?"
"I guess..."
"Do what makes you feel right, Ivy..."
"I love you, Leora! You are my bestest friend EVER!" She hugged me and started to cry.
"So, what will it be Ivy?"
"I love Levi." She walked out of her bedroom with the black box and up to Levi. She turned him round and kissed him passionately. She whispered someone and everyone cheered. Levi picked her up and swung her round in the air.

Everything is moving too quickly.... but that's life, I guess.
