Leora Threade, an 18 year old girl who used to wonder.
She has been on one journey on her life and now it's time for her next. As Leora goes to college there is more confusion and drama being made. Having the most handsome boyfriend in school, Isaac...
The gorgeous smell of Turkey was clumped in the atmosphere. Me, my Dad and Isaac were all sat around the small dinner table, trying to fit all the food we could into our mouths. I think Dad won, he had always been a fast eater even when he piled the food up so it resembled Mount Everest. I don't even think my stomach could contain that much amount of food.
I gathered my knife and fork together to make a straight line and I stretched back, letting a certain expanse of oxygen into my lungs. If I could eat this meal, and only this meal everyday of my life, I definitely would! Isaac had finished eating straight after me and reflected my actions. However, my Dad was still digging his way through his stack of food, appreciating every last bite. Me and Isaac sat there holding our stomach's in completeness. I glanced around at the sofa and then slowly turned to my Dad with my puppy dog eyes. He slowly rolled his eyes, still finishing off his mouthful of food. "Yes, go on," he got out as he had finally gotten rid of the food. He gestured to the sofa making me and Isaac jump up and run to the comfy seating area. Isaac laid there smiling with his eyes shut and his hands resting behind his head. I stood there with my arms folded trying not to grin down at him. Tapping my foot, I coughed a bit making him open one eyes, taking a quick glance before shutting it again.
"If you won't move, then," I sighed dramatically as I could ,"I will have to move you, myself!" I hopped on Isaac making him jump into action. He grabbed my waist, trying to lift me off of him but I tried to stand my ground. We ended up laying next to each other with Isaacs arm around my shoulder. I closed my eyes, resting my eyes lids as I thought about my busy schedule with my play I have to write and direct.
"You okay?" Isaac asked with his eyes gently closed as I slowly breathed in and out, making his chest grow then shrink.
"Yeah," I smiled ",Why?"
"I don't know, just want you to be happy," he twirled with my hair with his free hand. I laid back, resting my whole body, half on Isaac and the other half on the sofa.
"Ugh!" I groaned remembering ",I have to direct the play."
"I know, I know," he thought for a while, pausing for a moment "...Maybe you can get Ivy to help you?"
I didn't think of that. I closed my eyes and replied with a ",We'll see."
After me and Isaac had rested and napped we both woke up to a note from my Dad, reading ',I have seen that you two were sleeping so I have left for home. Love you xxx'. I folded the note up and tucked it into my back pocket. I turned round to see Isaac tapping something into his phone. "Ivy and Levi?" I asked walking up to him slowly.
"Uh- Yes!" He stuttered ",Inviting them over." I nodded and wondered into my bedroom, shutting the door behind me. My whole body released onto my bed, the fluffy bedding and plush pillows surrounded me with comfort. It was Christmas and I was feeling tired already. Isaac burst through my bedroom door smiling with a wine bottle in his hand. "Want some?" He asked. I nodded and jumped up.
Sat on the sofa with a wine glass in our hands, Ivy and Levi came over. Ivy's mouth dropped when she saw me ",Have you ever even drank before, Leora?!"
"Yeah!" I laughed. Now that I was 18, I could do everything. Well, theoretically I couldn't. I laid there with my legs on Isaacs lap as he watched his phone screen, swiping down and down and down. Ivy and Levi sat on the other sofa next to the one me and Isaac were on.
"Have a good Christmas?" Levi asked us.
Isaac put his phone down and started to answer ",Yes!" He looked over at my smiling. I smiled back and nodded. He looked away and put his glass down then back down. I put my empty glass down on the side then shook my leg, trying to catch his attention. "Huh?" He groaned.
"Are you okay?" I asked, not so loudly to disturb Ivy and Levi.
"Yeah," he put his phone down, again ",Why?"
"You seem..." I gestured to his phone ",... distracted." He looked at his phone then back at me. He slowly turned his phone off without taking his eyes off of me.
Something was wrong...
I took my eyes back to the television, still playing away to it's-self. Ivy and Levi seemed comfortable but not me and Isaac. There was something up with him but I had not figured it out, yet! Anyway. I noticed Ivy and Levi had now gotten a glass of red wine, they must of got it while me and Isaac was a having a ,kind of, convocation. I leant back and let my eyes rest. My stomach was tingling for no reason. Ivy told me ages ago that she used to have vibes about people. It sounds weird but I think I believe her. Sometimes I may be a bit too gullible.
