Life. So perfect until Riley came back in the picture and don't forget Cameron. "Leora," Isaac hugged me trying to wake me up. I groaned in response. "Don't forget we arranged to meet with Riley and Cameron today at the local library." He got up and put his jeans and t-shirt on. I rubbed my eyes and pulled a frown.
"You've got to be kidding me," I looked up at him. He shook his head and grinned. "Sorry, princess."
"I guess a princess gotta do what a princess gotta do!" I sat up and crossed my legs. Isaac kissed me on the forehead and smiled.
"Ready in 10?" He looked in the mirror combing his hand through his hair. "Sure," I got up and stood behind him, Isaac now fitting his silver lip ring. I sighed, "You don't have to wear that you know. Sure I like it, but I love you just the way you are." I stood round to face him with my arms around his neck.
"I know you do and that's one of the reasons why I love you, but this lip ring took courage to get so I don't want it to heal too quickly," He grinned and kissed me.
"I'll go get ready then."
Once me and Isaac were ready I grabbed the camera and locked the dorm door behind me. As we came to the local library I could see Cameron slouched in a cushioned seat reading a book while Riley kept glancing over at the clock then huffing. I pushed the door and it didn't open until Riley pushed the door beside it from the inside and said ", You have to pull."
"Yes because I was just going to keep pushing," I rolled my eyes at her and pulled the door, opening it for Isaac. Cameron now stood up so we were all standing in a circle.
"So, what's the plan?" He asked shoving his hands in his black jeans.
"Well me and Isaac could go and take a few photos upstairs," Riley linked her fingers through Isaac's.
"Or..." Isaac quickly but smoothly freed his fingers from hers and wiped it up his jacket ",We could do something else."
"Well," She grabbed Isaac's hand back ",unless Leora has a better idea I guess that's our only choice." She smiled unpleasantly at me.
"We could get some food," I stated. Isaac yanked his hand away from Riley.
"Well I guess..." she went quiet. She looked over at Cameron who had his headphones in. The look turned into a glare as she strutted over to him violently pulling his headphones out. "Umm hello, blind bat! We are going to get food," she spoke at though he was deaf, even though she called him a blind bat. Once again I had rolled my eyes at Riley then turning to leave the library.
As we came to a small sushi restaurant, Isaac gently touched my waist. I turned to look at him ",You okay?" he asked me with concern. "I smiled ",yes, I just loathe Riley." I heard her gasp with surprise.
"I heard that!"
Oops," I said sarcastically, Isaac smiling at me, trying not to burst with laughter. I opened the sushi restaurant door, shortly after being greeted by a waiter.
"Table for three?" She asked pleasantly, not realising Riley was still coming through the door. I turned round to see her hair stuck between the two glass doors, Riley panicking bring three or four waiters to her attention. "Four, unfortunately," I turned to look at Cameron and Riley, Cameron smiling while Riley sorting her hair out after her devastating, rather hilarious, incident. The waitress showed us to our table, Riley obviously taking her seat first grabbing a menu. Cameron sat next to her peering over her shoulder. I took my seat after Isaac taking a menu. The waitress left us to decide.
"So," Cameron said, I assumed he had already chosen.
"So when are we going to take the photos?" Riley groaned, putting the menu back in its place.
"After we eat," I said looking over at Riley ",Unless you want we to get the camera out now?" She nodded and took out a small mirror, putting her red lipstick on. I took the camera out of my bag and adjusted the lense. "I'm sure Mr Frenmus wouldn't mind us all hanging out together then writing a few facts about our partner." Isaac nodded. I turned on the flash and captured the photo. Riley squinted, pulling a funny face. "Why didn't you tell me fla-," I took another photo with flash on, Riley's eyes now tearing up because of the unexpected light. She scowled at me.
While we ate our sushi it was awfully quiet. Not even one snarky comment from Riley. Nothing. Once we were done we came out of the restaurant stuffed. "What now?" Cameron muttered. Riley rolled her eyes at him.
"Now," She took the camera out of my bag, "now we take some pictures." She handed me the camera, dragging Isaac into the shot. Cameron stepped next to me, watching them with a frown. Besides them there was a small fountain, Riley stepped on top of the ledge and so did Isaac after her. "Get it on time," she shouted to me. I tutted and leaned into the camera trying to focus them. "1, 2, 3!" Riley and Isaac jumped off in sync, both pulling different posses in the air as I captured the photo. Riley jumping off like Gabriella from High School Musical on the front cover, while Isaac jumped normally, no pose, really. Only giving a small grin on how pathetic it was.
"Cameron, do you mind?" Isaac swapped places with him, trying to get away from Riley and her cringe worthy ideas.
"1,2,3," I captured another photo. This time the pose was cute. Cameron was giving her a piggy back, both their faces light up. As Riley got down, I thought I saw her blush for a second until she stopped smiling and took the camera off me. Now me and Cameron were next to the fountain. Think of a pose just in time, I sat my elbow on Cameron's shoulder when he lent down on one knee as I wasn't tall enough to reach. I could reach but did I really want the photo to look like I was saluting to Cameron with my elbow? No.
"Go ahead Leora and Isaac," she now pushing us into the middle. We both frowned but we didn't mind. Isaac placed his hands on my waist and I wrapped my arms around his neck. I smiled brightly at him and stepped on my tiptoes and kissed his smiling lips. I heard the camera snap. "After all," Riley continued, "you are a couple." We broke from the kiss, staring at Riley in shock. My mouth dropped as Isaac's eyebrows raised, not taking our eyes off Riley. Is she broken? I thought.
"What?" I mumbled, loud enough for her to hear me.
"What?" She answered. "You were made for each other. The princess and Prince Charming."
I felt like I was on a cloud surrounded by angels on one side and red devils on the other. I was torn. Riley looked up at Cameron beside her. Her eyes smiled in delight. Still no movement from the mouth area. Cameron looked down at her, smiling also.
"What is this? Have I just stepped into a parallel universe?" I walked up to them.
"Maybe you shouldn't push it before she changes her mind," I felt Isaac pull me back. My dreams had been for-filled. I was no longer under a dark cloud with a metal ball strapped to my ankle.
We took a few more poses for the camera as the sun started to set. In the car I had already been placing were each photo would set into the album ready for class the next day.
"Night," Isaac smiled as he leant on my door frame.
"Night, love you," I looked at him. He scratched his collar bone.
"Love you too," he stumbled into his room.
I placed the photo album on Mr Frenmus' desk. He looked at me astonishingly as it looked as though we were the only ones who were able to complete it.
"Oh my goat!"
"Not sure if that's a thin-," I started.
"You actually did it," he took a seat back in his chair, holding his hands up in a prism and every so often touching them with his lips. "I thought Riley had a thing for Isaac."
"Yes, but-,"
"And you didn't like her because of it. She is also your step sister in a way, did you know that?"
"Well, obviously-,"
"And Isaac thought you liked that Cameron fellow and you didn't and you were on a break, you and Isaac."
"We were never on a break-,"
"And-,"
"How do you know all this stuff?" I interrupted his little know-it-all session.
"I keep up with the kids. I'm a trend like fidget spinners but 'obvs' I last longer than that, 'init'," he finally ended with a weird looking like dab, spinning a fidget spinner with his outer arm. Every so often he extended his outside arm to keep it spinning.
"Bye," I sat in my seat scarred for life. The students came in one by one, some in two's. The only one that caught my eye was Riley and Cameron, Riley was laughing at what he had said and she brushed her fingertips on his brown leather jacket. I smiled. Still no sign of Isaac once the register was completed and Mr Frenmus had just about to get onto our assignment and how amazing it was and how he knew my whole life story, Isaac's name was on my phone, without thinking I answer in the middle of class. Only three words came out of his mouth, "They found her."
