Not What I Expected (Dinah/You)

Chapter 2

A year ago

     I was at the VMA Awards on the red carpet doing what famous people do. Smile. Turn. Smile. Turn. Walk to the next section and repeat. When I came to interviewers that when I laid my eyes on them. Fifth Harmony. The most beautiful- scratch that most gorgeous females on the red carpet. " Y/N?" "Oh sorry." I knew I was staring too hard. "How does it feel to be nominated as Best New Artist?" No different than I felt two seconds ago.
"It feels amazing knowing that I came from nothing and became something and in a short amount of time. And knowing that a lot of people appreciate my music. "
" So who's performance are you looking forward to tonight?"
" Definitely Fifth Harmony's." And that's when they all looked over here.
     And that's when I met her eyes. The girl that I've liked ever since I heard her voice. Ally Brooke Hernandez. 
    Not really paying attention to what the interviewer was saying because my manager, Yonni, was pushing me into the venue so I can take my seat. And when I got there that's when I realized I would be sitting next to her. "Hi, I'm Ally and I love your music especially Scars to You Beautiful. "
"Th-thanks I like- I mean love yours too."
" Aww your so sweet" she says while pinching my cheeks and smiling. Wow way to put someone in the friend zone.
      Throughout the rest of the show we would occasionally talk about who should've won and the performances up to hers. And let me tell you the way that she can move... God I wish I was the one she was shaking that ass on.
      Towards the end of the night I feel someone eyes on me as they announce the category that I'm in. I looked to the left of me and I see Dinah Jane staring at me until she notices me looking back at her and turns away. Did she just blush when I caught her?
      " Y/N Y/LN!!!"
      I was so shocked. I didn't think that I would win but I did. I got up and so did Ally and she hugged me and congratulated me in my ear. When I was walking up to the stage I was looking around in awe. I never imagined so many people clapping for me at one time. I never once experienced it so it was new to me. When I reached the person handing me my award I politely took it from them and looked out at the crowd. That's when it hit me. They're clapping for me. I didn't even know I was crying until I heard the crowd start to aw.
     " I didn't really think that I would win this. Coming from where I've come from it's hard to actually believe that I've won an award for this. To know that people actually love my music as much as this is amazing. Thank you so much. "
      And with that me and the presenters went backstage. Right when I got down the steps off the stage platform is when I immediately got pulled into a hug with a female body. I looked down a little and realized that it was  Dinah. "Congratulations I knew you were going to win. Your an amazing artist you deserve it. "
"Thanks Dinah. "
Then she leaves with the rest of Fifth Harmony to go back to their seats not before turning back around and winking at me.
Did she just wink at me? What's that all about?
"She likes you. You didn't hear about it in their last interview. Your her celebrity crush." I turn around and see August Alsina.
" No. But how would you know your not into the whole pop music type stuff" 
"I might not be but I do pay attention to my nieces that are obsessed with them. Especially Chay."
"Well I know she is. Why do you think we bond so well. "
" Well she just know that she likes you. I'll see you later bro. " He says as he hugs me.
" Later Aug."

2 weeks later

     Things with Ally haven't gotten anywhere. It's like she knew I was trying to get with her but she just kept friend zoning me. While that was happening me and the other girls have gotten closer. The one that I've gotten closer to is Dinah. She's really fun to be around. We have a lot in common from music to hobbies. Me and Dinah have pulled so many pranks on the girls  together it's crazy. It got so bad that Lauren didn't talk to me for a week. And I need my Lauren because I need her advice, so I ended up buying her a new Polaroid camera to make it up to her.
      As for my music I've gotten known more. Especially with my new song out with Dreezy called Body. The girls are telling me that I'm becoming more known than them but I don't believe it. But I also came out with a song called Thank Yo Momma featuring TK N Cash. And right now it's a big hit out there. It's playing on all the radio stations and it's getting out there.
      The background story to the song... well let's just say that's it's about someone close. Alright it's about Ally and someone else. The girls loved the song.
"Y/N are you staying over? It's late and I don't want you to drive home at 2:30 in the morning."
"Do you want me to?" "Yeah and plus the studio is closer to here than it is from your house. "
"Fine Di I'll stay over." I say and she squeals and pulls the covers up. " Come on you can sleep with me." I look at her with a raised eyebrow " You sure your mom won't say anything about it?"
"We're just sleeping it's not like we are having sex. Just come on and stop worrying. I wanna cuddle."
I sigh in defeat and take my shirt and pants off so that it leaves me in my sports bra and b-ball shorts.
     Ever since me and Dinah have become best friends this is what our days and nights have been consisted of. Once I laid down Dinah faced me and decided to put her head in my chest I heard her sigh in content. "You comfortable?"
"More than you think." I chuckled and looked down at her. "Can I ask you something Di?" She nods her head to tell me she's listening.
"Have you've ever liked somebody without ever knowing that you like them but you can feel it when you look at them?"
"Yeah about this one person but they're so hooked up on someone else that they can't see that the one that wants them the most is right in front of them. "
     I couldn't help but to think about what August told me. Is she talking about me? Is August right about Dinah's crush on me? I was interrupted by hearing light snores and I look down and to see Dinah sound asleep with a pout on her face.  I smile and start to drift off myself.

Dinah's POV

      I wake up and look at the phone that's blaring. I pick it up and turn the alarm off and look at what time it reads. 7:30am.  I heard someone's heartbeat in my ear. I look up and see a peacefully sleeping Y/N. Damn she looks so cute when she's sleeping. I take in her appearance and realize she's only in her Nike sports bra and basketball shorts. I look down and see her abs. Damn dancing and working out are really paying off for her. I swear I could just lick up and down her abs.
      But sadly that would never happen seeing as she doesn't like me. She likes Ally. I like her so much it hurts. I see the way she looks at Ally and only wishing Ally was me. Why can't she realize that the girl that wants her the most is right in front of her? Literally. Like just look down and lift my head up and kiss me.
     Her lips look so soft and kissable. Only if I had the chance to kiss them. I love the way her hazel eyes light up when she's happy.  They're just -
"Di you do know it's rude to stare right? What time is it?" I look at the phone looking at the time that reads 7:45am. Damn I was staring at her for 15 minutes. That's a new record.
" 7:45"
"Shit Dinah why didn't you wake me up? I'm suppose to be at the studio at 8 I only got 5 minutes to get ready!" I got up and watched her run and try to get ready. I giggle while watching her rush.
"What are you laughing about?" I giggle and look at her hazel eyes.
"Y/N/N, Yonni texted you telling you that the time changed you don't have to be there till 9:30." She looked at me with disbelief and sighed. She laid down on the bed and laid her head on my lap and I immediately start playing with her hair.
" Thanks for letting me know after I started rushing." I giggle and continue playing with it. "Your welcome."
     I feel her looking at me so I look down and smile at her. " Why you staring at me?" " Your just really beautiful. Like just amazingly beautiful." I turn away because I know I'm blushing like crazy. " Awee is little Dinah Jane blushing?" She says in a baby voice. I push her head a little bit.
"Your so mean. But thanks for the compliment."
     She gets up an puts her shoes on. She walks up to me and leans down with her tall ass and kisses my cheek. Her lips are so soft.
"I'll see you later okay Dinah?" I nod my head as I watch her walk out the door.
      Only if she was really mine. I would've tried to make her stay. But sadly she's in love with someone else like I'm in love with her.
