Not What I Expected (Dinah/You)

Chapter 47

Y/N POV

"Cheylise be nice to the other kids!" Melanie yells. Right now we are in the play room where all the other kids in the hospital plays during their free time. I want Chey to go back to the way she used to be and this a start. Cheylise is able to leave today but later at 1. It's now 8 and she didn't want to be stuck in the room. I wouldn't want to be either since we couldn't leave the room for two days.
     Yesterday was Cheylise's last day talking to the therapist and once again she had Dinah in the room. Dr.Brown told me that this time was much easier than last time. He said she told him everything that he wanted to hear and she even drew him a picture. He told me that now Cheylise is going to be more closed as to  when it comes to meeting new people. He said to keep everyone was around her before around and honestly that was what I was going to do. Right now I don't trust just anyone around my child. If I know Cheylise hasn't been around you a lot I'm not going to let you be around her this time around until I know she's okay with new people.
     Dinah is with the girls rehearsing for the their Jingle Ball performances. Dinah had left not that long ago and now it's just me and Melanie watching Cheylise play. I look over at Cheylise and see her pulling on a girls hair. I get up and rush over to them and make Cheylise release the girls hair. I pick her up and apologize to the girls mother. I walk to her room with Melanie right behind me.
Once we get to the room I put Cheylise on the bed and sit in the chair next to her.  "Cheylise why were you pulling that girls hair?" "Mama no yell." "I'm not yelling Cheylise. Now why did you pull her hair?" "Pawpaw say no be nice to girls. He say only like boys." "Who's pawpaw?" "The man that took me mama. He say he pawpaw. I no like him he scary." He tried to brainwash my kid. "Baby girl that doesn't mean you have to rude. You have to be nice to everybody even girls." "But pawpaw said no." "Cheylise you listen to me! You have to listen to me not him so you will be nice to everybody!" I raise my voice a little. Cheylise looks at me with tear filled eyes and starts crying. "Y/N! You do know she's still young and doesn't know any better right? She was taught to listen to people older than her and that's what she's doing even if it's from a sick ass guy. You can't yell at her. Imagine how many times that asshole has yelled at her." I sigh and walk over to Chey and sit next to her on the bed. I pick her up and put her on my lap and kiss the top of her head as she hides her face in my stomach. "I'm sorry baby girl. Mama didn't mean to yell at you. You just have to be nice to everybody okay. Don't listen to pawpaw okay?" She looks up at me and I wipe her face. "Okay." 
      I feel a vibration in my pocket and I take out my phone and look at it My Whole ❤️wants to FaceTime... I press accept and fix the camera so it's on me and Chey. "Hi baby. Hi princess. Melanie there?" I nod my head. "Hey Melanie." "Hi Dinah."
"Hi Mami. Mami I leave today. I go see you right?" Dinah giggles and nods her head. "Yeah princess but much later. I have rehearsals today so I won't see you till night time." Cheylise pouts and nods her head. "Hey it's okay baby girl you still get to see her. And then we can play with your dolls okay?" She smile and nods her head. "Baby can we talk when I get home? I should be there at 8. 9 the latest." I nod my head. "Is it bad?" "Depends on how you wanna take it." She says in a nervous voice. "Hey don't be nervous. Whatever it is I bet I'm gonna love it okay." She smiles and nods her head. "Baby, can you bring me and the girls some lunch later? Like pizza or something?" I nod my head. I hear the door open and I turn my head and see the doctor. I put up one finger and he nods his head and starts talking to Melanie. "Hey baby girl, I'll see you later. The doctor just came in." "Okay. I love you Y/N. I love you Chey." "I luh you Mami." "I love you too babe." With that she hangs up.
"Well she's all set to go. I just gave Melanie her prescription. You can put it in the pharmacy downstairs or which ever pharmacy you prefer to send it to. I can send it down stairs if you want. Here's her discharge papers. All you have to do is sign and you guys can be on your way. The nurse will be in just a few to remove the needles." We both nod our heads and he leaves. "You ready to go mamas?" Melanie asks. She nods her head fast. "Mommy can we get Donald's?" "That's up to mama baby." Kathy, the nurse, walks in and Cheylise smiles wide. "Katy!" "Hey pretty girl! You ready to go home?" "Yeah I go play wit my toys and mama and Mami going play wit me." "Really? You gonna miss playing with me?" Cheylise nods her head vigorously.
       Kathy was Cheylise's nurse ever since I brought her in. When I brought her in from when I got her from Nicki's hotel room shes been by my side calming me down. She actually stayed with me in the waiting room until the girls came. Cheylise's doctor could be an asshole sometimes so I usually asked Kathy to explain things to me. "Can I take these needles out your arm sweet heart?" "Yeah they hurt." "Well when I take them out you can get a cute puppy band aid and can get a lollipop for being my best patient." Cheylise smiles and laughs and nods her head. Seeing Cheylise happy is one of the best sight ever. Her happiness is the key to my life. Seeing her happy makes me happy.
       Kathy walks over and carefully takes off the plastic tape and removes the needle with Cheylise wincing here and there. Kathy goes to dispose of the needle and the cokes back taking the wrapper of the band aid and then wipes the blood off with an alcohol wipe and then puts the band aid on it. Then she repeats the same thing to her other arm. She goes in her pocket and takes out a red lollipop and hands it to Cheylise. "Here you go sweetie. I hope you feel better okay?" Cheylise nods her head and Kathy comes over and gives me a hug. "Take care of her. I want to see her better." "Of course. That's what I want to." She pulls back and hugs Melanie and then leaves. "Melanie can you get her dressed and get her hair done and meet me downstairs I'm going to pull the car up." She nods h oer head and gets up and take Cheylise to the bathroom to get her ready. I grab the discharge papers and scribble my signature on the paper. I get off of the bed and walk out the door to the service area and hand them the papers. "Her mom is in the room getting her ready. I'm going to pull the car up front. Can you tell Kathy to lead them outside?" The lady nods her head and pages Kathy.

"Y/N!" "Cheylise! Y/N!" "Y/N how does it feel to have your daughter back home with you?" I turn around with two pizza boxes and a plastics bag with chicken wings in it in one arm and Cheylise in the other. "It feel amazing to have her back home where she belongs. I got my best friend back. Nothing in the world compares to the feeling that I'm feeling. And it feels good to know that justice is going to get served as well. Now if you excuse me I have a hungry girlfriend, cousin, and friends to feed. Oh and child too. Plus myself. These wings ain't gonna eat themselves." I smile at the cameras and Cheylise waves.
      I walk into the building and wave  at the receptionist and head to the room that holds the girls. I put Cheylise down and grab her hand. "Cheybay you ready to go see Mami?" "We see Mami?" "Mhmm and your aunties. But you have to be quiet until I tell you to go to them okay?" She nods her head. When we get to the door I look through and see the girls still practicing. I look at the time and see that they have 3 minutes until their next break. I open the door quietly. "Go to Mami okay?" Cheylise didn't even respond and just ran into the room.
"MAMI!" Cheylise yells as she runs into the room and get ahold of Dinah's leg hugging it. I walk into the room and Sean walks up to me and I dap him up. "Hi princess! Where's mama?" I turn to see Cheylise in Dinah's arms pointing to me. I wave to her and turn back to Sean. "You know, Dinah loves that little girl like she was hers." Sean says while watching the girls then turning back to me. "Yeah. That's why I fall even more in love with her everyday knowing she can put a smile on Chey's face like I do. I bought you guys lunch." He takes it from my hands and walks away. "Make sure Mani doesn't touch my wings!" He throws me a thumbs up and I walk to the group of girls gawking over my daughter.
"Alright times up give me my daughter." "No mama I wanna stay wit titi Lolo." Chey says as she tightens her grip around Lauren's neck. "Fine then. Let me steal my girlfriend." I say and then stick my tongue out at Chey and she does the same. The girls laugh and I take Dinah's hand and pull her toward me and walking  away from the girls. I let go of her hand and wrap my arms around her waist and she wraps her arms around my neck.
"Hey you." She smiles and puts her face in my neck. "Hi babe." Dinah says as she kisses my neck. "How's rehearsal?" "Fine. Just tired." "Only a couple more hours. Wanna tell me what you had to tell me?" She nods her head and looks up at me. "You remember that time when we had sex on your bus when Cheylise wanted to sleep on the girls and I's bus because of Lauren?" "Yeah that was two months ago. And I used a condom because you yelled at me to go to the store to go get some. Why?" She unwraps herself from my neck and grabs my arm takes my hand and place it on her stomach. "Seven more months." "For what?" She sighs and puts my other hand on her stomach. "Seven more months." "Dinah seven more months for what? Saying seven more months isn't... wait your serious?" She smiles and nods her head.
"But I wrapped it up?" "Babe remember when you was going deep and I told you I felt something pop and you told me it was my cherry? Well that been popped the first time we did it and that pop was from the condom and you came inside." "Man I need to get stronger and bigger condoms." I say as I put my hand on my forehead. She hits my stomach and I laugh. "That's all you got from what I told you?" "No it was that and the love of my life is having my child. You don't know how much more I love you now." She hugs me and I hug her back. "I love you too."  "Who else knows?" "The girls, my family, your family, and I don't know if Cheylise still remembers." "So you told everyone but me?" "I wanted to tell you in a special way but I couldn't think of a way to tell you so now I am."
"Hey guys!?" The girls and Sean turns around with their mouths stuffed. I seen Mani with a wing in her hand. "Okay firstly Mani those are my wings. So now you owe me $9. Secondly Dinah's having my kid!" "We know now can we go back to eating? These wings are good." Mani says as she stuffs another wing in her mouth. "Can you at least save me some of my own wings?" She nods her head and goes back to eating.
"Your really having my kid?" "Yes Y/N I have the pregnancy test papers if you wanna see." "It's mine?" She looked at me in utter shock. "You can't be serious right now?" "I'm just joking." She looks at me with a straight face. "Don't play like that." "I'm sorry baby. I want another girl." "Why? You can barely handle the one you have now." "Hey! I actually can handle her." "She acts too much like you and you can't even handle yourself. Plus you don't know how to say no to her that's why she's spoiled. I feel bad for Melanie sometimes." I look at her. "Why?" "Because since Cheylise acts so much like you she has to put up with her when she goes over there. And plus you spoil her and you know Melanie doesn't do that stuff so she has to deal with her little temper tantrums. You can't even handle them." I nod my head and shrug. I wrap my arms around her waist and put my face in her neck.
"Babe?" "Hmm?" "Do you think I'm ready to be a mom?" I remove my face from her neck and look at her in her eyes. "Dinah Jane why would you ask me that? I know more than anything that your ready to be a mother. You take care of Cheylise like she was your own and sometimes I think she likes you more than me and I'm her favorite parent. You take care of your siblings all the time and I see the way you interact with all of them. Your going to be one of the best mothers I know. Your going to do an amazing job at raising our child. And even if you wasn't ready, your not in this alone. I'm here with you. I'm going to help you take care of our kid. I know your ready maybe even more ready than me and I already have a kid. I'm going to be by your side throughout this whole pregnancy and even after that. I love Cheylise and our little one. And most importantly I love you. I wouldn't trade you guys for anything in the world. You guys are the family that I never had and I'm not giving up for nothing." I wipe the tears that are on her face and the tears that are currently falling. I lean in and place a tender kiss on her lips.
     This wasn't any ordinary kiss. It was slow and filled with love and passion. I put my all into it and I can feel her do the same. "Aye you guys do know that your child is still in the room right?" I hear Lauren say. I pull away from the kiss with my hands still around her waist. "Ooooo mama you made Mami cry. You bad." Me and Dinah laugh. "No princess. They're happy tears. Mami is happy. Mama made me feel better." "So why you cry?" "Because mama is being sweet." Cheylise runs over to us and I pick her up. "Don't make Mami cry. I no like see Mami cry." "Okay Cheylise I won't make her cry." "Promise mama?" "I promise baby girl."
