Chapter 21

Your POV

"Smoking a blunt, what it look like?" Chris says. I swear he wants us to get in trouble. "Lauren I swear if you don't bring your fine Cuban ass on you won't be getting none for a month." "Since she can't get none of your chocolate goodness can I get some?" Chris says. I laugh I swear his ass don't know when to stop. Normani blushes and walks into the house with Lauren right behind her. "So Y/N you wanna explain what your out here doing when you have a kid in the house?" "Babe I only got one hit. It's not like I'm high as hell right now." "Either way you have a kid in the house. You do that on your own time." Dinah yells.
"Nah see I'm gonna need you to lower your voice I didn't raise my voice at you so tone it down. I'm not smoking in the house, I'm outside and it is on my own time. You and the girls were playing around and watching her." 
     She glares at me and walks back in the house. I see her pick up Cheylise and go upstairs. "Yo bruh she got a point. Ya ain't 'posed to be smoking round her." August says. "Aug your the one that brought it and passed it to her. And plus Y/N has a point to. She's not around my little nugget. She's outside at least a hundred feet away from her she can't smell it nor will it do anything to her." Nicki says. We all nod our heads agree with her and Chris puts out the blunt and we make our way into the house. I see Dinah come back down with a bag and Cheylise is  dressed. "Where are you going with my daughter?" "To me and the girls house. I don't feel like she's safe here with you smoking around her."" But she's my kid. You didn't ask for my permission to take her." "Well your not acting like you care for her. Your smoking marijuana around her." I hear a couple of "oh" and "oh shit" come from around the room. "Welp I gotta blast. Come on Normani bring your melanin goddess self on." Chris says as he walks out the door. Nicki sits on the couch and so does the girls.
"Who doesn't care about her!? Are you serious? I'm the only parent that she has that cares for her. Melanie didn't want her but I do. Didn't nobody pay for anything that that little girl has except for me! Nobody but my ass. Everything i do is for that little girl. It's been like that for almost two fucking years. So don't you ever come and try to spit some bullshit like that to me! I feed, clothe, wash, play, care, and love that girl. I may not have had a good parenting background but I know what not to do as a parent." With that I take Cheylise and her bag from Dinah and go upstairs to my room and slam my door.

Dinah's POV

"How are you going to say that she doesn't care about that little girl? That little girl is the only thing that she thinks of other than you. She does care for Cheylise and for you to basically tell her that she is an unfit parent just broke her. Y/N had a point though. She was outside smoking and plus she doesn't even smoke often. That baby wasn't nowhere near any of the smoke. The back door was closed and we wasn't near the door. You got a lot of apologizing to do." Nicki says and she gets up and leaves.
"Why would you tell that to her? Dinah you know her past with her parents and you basically just told her that she was just like them. And then try to take her kid from her? I don't know how your gonna make this up to her. You really hurt her." Lauren says then goes upstairs.
      I didn't mean to make it seem like she was an unfit parent I just wanted her to be careful. What they all didn't know was that Cheylise was about to go outside to her because she seen her outside. Normani seen her go towards the door too that's why she went outside with me. We didn't know what they were doing until we got out there. I make my way upstairs to try and make things better with Y/N.  Before I get up the stairs Stanley grabs my wrist.
"Let her cool down for a minute. Come with me." I look at him unsure. He's been hitting on me ever since he seen me and I'm kinda iffy on going anywhere by myself with him. I nod my head because I know that she needs her space when she's mad. I follow him to the garage and he gets the keys to the black Range Rover. We get inside and he starts the car and we make our way out the garage and onto the street. "You hungry?" "Yeah but just get something with a drive thru. I don't want headlines to pop up." He nods his head understanding
"Why you with my big headed cousin anyway when you could really have anybody you want." I look at him. "I've had a crush on her ever since she came out with her first song. And when I met her I fell in love with her. She's just an amazing person. No matter what she's been through she doesn't let it get to her. And she is dedicated to her music. And she's an outgoing person. And she-" "Alright I get it you like her." "Why do you always hit on me?" He let's out a sigh and takes a quick glance at me and then looks back at the road. "I do it just to mess with her. I honestly think that you are a very gorgeous female. I don't mean to do it, it just happens. Y/N hasn't been around for about 10 years. It takes a toll on a person. Especially when they was your partner in crime. Me, Y/N, and Normani was always around each other. And having one of us not there was it's something that hurt me. Then Normani became famous and they both weren't around. And since the two females that mean the world to me left I just figured that everybody would do that. So I just started messing around with females."
      That explains why he showed up here unannounced. He just wanted Normani and Y/N in his life again. He thought that if they was back together again that they would be just like how they were younger. "Wait why are you telling me this?" "Because I can tell that she loves you and vice versa. Don't let this argument get to you guys. Yes you were wrong but so was she. When she realizes that then she would want to talk." He pulls up to the drive thru at McDonald's and orders for us. "Don't lose her like I lost her. None of us realized what her parents did to her and how much they hurt her. You saying what you said triggered something. That's why she went off on you. Just let her breathe for a few days." I nod my head and  take the fries that he hands me.

      Once we get back to the house I see Y/N in then kitchen making Cheylise a cup of warm milk. Stanley walks in from behind me. "So you come at me for being an unfit parent and then you go out with my cousin? Your something else Dinah." She says as she turns around. "Y/N we didn't--" " Nah bro keep her she's all yours."
"Y/N we didn't even do anything! I was going to talk to you but he told me to give you space. All we did was go to McDonald's, get food and talk. Nothing more nothing less. I wouldn't do that to you. Can we talk about earlier?" "What is there to talk about Dinah? You told me that I don't care for my child and that I can't take care of her. So what else are you going to say?"
      I walk up to her and take her hands on mine and look her in her hazel eyes. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said hose things to you. It's just she seen you guys outside and was going to go out there and I didn't know what you guys were doing but I had a clue. And when I got outside with Normani and I seen you smoking I got upset because I imagined Chey smelling it and walking into that environment. I didn't mean to call you an unfit parent and say that you didn't care for her. I'm sorry can you forgive me?" She sighs and hugs me and kisses my forehead. I hug her back instantly and we stay in that position until she has to go give Cheylise her milk.
