"Mother, meet Y/n. Y/n, meet my mother." Damian says. His reply short and cold.
I gulp and decide to make the first move. "Hi.. Nice to meet you."
"Hello Y/n. I see you are dating my son." She says. Not beating around the bush. 'This woman is a threat' My wolf says, making me feel uncomfortable.
"Yes I am." I give her a small, nervous smile. Ignoring my inner wolf's comments.
"And you're a wolf?" She presses.
"Yes." I squeak. I feel Damian's hand tighten around mine.
'Calm mate down! He's getting more anxious.' My wolf speaks up, again. What am I supposed to do? I'm the middle of meeting his mother!
'Think of something! Anything!' My wolf yells, begging me to do something. I can't do anything right now!
'Squeeze his paw!' Alright! Alright! I guess that's something I can do. I gently squeeze his hand, in a comforting way. I quickly glance at Damian, then avert my eyes to stare at my lap. I can feel Talia's gaze fixed on me. It's very unsettling. 'I do not trust this Talia woman' You just don't like her because she makes me nervous!
'Very true Y/n, but she gives me bad vibes.' I internally groan at my wolf.
The room is very silent. I'm pretty much too scared to even make a sound. Heck! I don't even feel comfortable breathing.
'Stop being nervous!' She argues. How am I?
'You're the daughters Alpha for crying out loud! Walk and talk with confidence!' Alright! Alright! I'll try to keep my head held high.
I raise my head, straighten my posture and level my gaze with Talia's. She keeps staring me and it's really uncomfortable.
"Talia?" Bruce questions her, because she's very silent.
"Tell me about your family." Talia says in a cool tone. Still keeping her gaze locked onto me.
"I have 3 brothers, and they're all very protective and sweet around me." I say, hoping that's enough. She just hums at me.
"Anything else? Grandparents? Aunts? Uncles? Father? Mother?" She asks. Oh, god.
"Um. No. No. No. And...." I trial off, cutting my response short.
                              "Father and mother?" She presses.
"Father." I say, losing some of newly found confidence. Talia raises an eyebrow, while Damian just continues to hold my hand.
'Y/n? Your levels of sadness are very high. Is everything alright?' I hear my wolfs calm voice ring out in my head. Yeah. Everything's good.
'Y/n. That's a huge lie, I am pretty much you. I can tell you're sad.' Fine, you're right. Talia's brought up a touchy subject.
'Thought so. Everything will be alright.' Thanks.
"And your Mother?" Talia presses. Please stop... "I mean, you're so young and could still use a mother figure. Kids without a complete set of parents can be hostile and dangerous. Like animals." She directs that last part at me. I feel tears pricking my eyes. "No offence or anything, but I don't want a rabid emotionally damaged kid-animal around my son!" She snaps at me.
I quickly stand up, wiping any stray tears falling down my face. Damian stands up too, grabbing my hand. I shake my hand out of grasp and run out of the room, I hear Damian calling my name but I ignore it. I can yelling from behind me, but I just bolt out of the Manor at full speed.
I run where ever my feet take me, I find myself standing in the middle of the all too familiar garden. I look around, trying to calm the waterfall of tears that threaten to fall.
"Y/n! I'm so sorry about Mother!" Damian says, rushing over to me. Pulling me into a tight hug. I just continue to sniffle and cry into Damian's chest. "Beloved, I'm here when you want to talk about it." I nod my head.
"I guess talking about it would be good." I start. "There was a pack of rouge wolves, they were attacking my pack. My mom and dad were protecting me, because 1. I was only 9 years old, and 2. I was already injured. One of my brothers were supposed were to be watching me but they he was knocked down and trying to help my dad. I wasn't able to walk, so I had to wait for my brother to come back and help me. But, one of the rouges saw me and made a beeline for me. At the last minute, my mom came to the rescue. They fought and fought, but they were evenly matched. That was until one of the wolves stuck my mom with a lethal dose of wolfs bane. She didn't make it." I finish, drying the last of my tears.
"I'm so sorry, Y/n. I didn't know mother would pry like that."
"It's alright, Dami. You didn't know, it wasn't your fault." I reassure him.
We just stay like that for a while, gazing at the stars and him holding me to his chest.
