The wind was howling at me while I was walking back to the school for my books. The weather was just perfect, warm and a little wet. I could smell rain in the air as I walked. The smell was amazing, everything was perfect until I stopped on Seventh Street to check my phone. The time read eight o'clock. It seemed so much later than that. The sun set a lot earlier than usual. It was pitch black, all I had for light were the moon, stars, and street lights. Everything seemed so dead. This is very unusual for my town. There had to be someone out somewhere.
I just noticed all of this as soon as I stopped. No people skateboarding, no kids playing, and no cars passing by. This all just creeped me out.
"Hello!?" I slightly yelled. I swear I just heard someone pass by me laughing.
"Is someone there?" I asked quietly and scaredly.
"Let's play a game," a little girl's voice from behind me said happily and quietly. I turned around quickly, but there was nobody there. I turned the flashlight in my phone on, and started looking around. There was no sign of anyone. Just a cat crossing the street. Maybe I'm just paranoid.
