We sat on a log next to the creek for a few minutes. We had talked about what life would be like if this had never happened. It would be much less chaos. We let our feet soak into the rich mud, and for the first time in my life I glanced up at the stars and noticed how peaceful they are, and how much brighter the one by the moon was compared to the rest.
"I wish this would go ahead an end already," Kady said.
"Yeah, but it won't end until Lisa's life ends."
"Let's change the subject while we are here."
"Okay, what do you want to talk about then?"
"Have you ever noticed how much brighter that star is right there," I pointed to the star by the moon.
"Actually, yes. I used to always make wishes on that star as a little girl, I mean I still do. It's something my dad had taught me."
"Your dad? You don't talk about him much."
"Yeah.. I just caught myself. I don't like talking about him."
    "Why?"
"It's just. Well, look at the time. We should go back to trying to find Lisa before other people end up missing."
    "I guess you're right."
We put our shoes back on, and walked out of the park.
