Chapter Four

[Four]

***Lexi's POV***

"Lex." A husky voice said, and gently shook my shoulder. "Lexi, wake up."

"Fuck this." Said another voice.

I woke up and screamed, with ice cold water dripping all over me.

"NASH!" I screamed. He was laughing his ass off. "Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up, pretty boy, but payback is a bitch."

I got up, grabbed clothes, and walked into the bathroom, locking the door. I hopped into the shower quickly, then got dressed. I was wearing a tiffany blue t-shirt, black high-waisted shorts, and black high top converse. I quickly unbraided my hair, letting the lose waves fall over my shoulders. I put on a little concealer and mascarra, then grabbed my Ray Bands.

I walked out of the bathroom, to find Nash and Cam fighting with balloon swords. I rolled my eyes, and walked out of the room, bumping into Shawn and Matt.

"Hey, Lexi. We were just heading down to the boardwalk, wanna come?" Shawn asked.

"Sure, let's go." I smiled, and we walked towards the boardwalk, joking around and laughing.

My feet dangled over the edge of the boardwalk, occasionally bumping into Matt's foot or Shawn's leg. We were sitting next to each other, watching the ocean.

I started to hum The Monster by Rihanna and Eminem.

"The Monster?" Shawn asked, referring to my humming. I nodded.

"Let's hear it." Matt said, smiling.

"Hmm... I don't know. Not a lot of people have heard me sing before." I shrugged.

"Come on! We are your favorite people on this Earth, so let's hear it!" Matt said, and I rolled my eyes while Shawn chuckled.

"Fine." I sighed, and started singing.

"...I'm friends with the monster,
That's under my bed,
Get along with the voices,
Inside of my head,
Keep tryin' to save me,
Stop holding your breath,
And you think I'm crazy,
Yeah, you think I'm crazy,
Well that's not fair..."

I finished the chorus, and Shawn and Matt were looking at me with shock.

"Um... I wasn't that bad, was I?" I cautiously asked.

"Are you kidding?! You were amazing!" Matt said.

"Yeah, you killed it. We need to sing a duet sometime." Shawn said.

"Thanks." I smiled and felt heat rise to my cheeks.

"IS LEXI SUMMERS BLUSHING?! SHAWN, IS SHE BLUSHING?" Matt screamed.

"WHY I BELIEVE SO, MATT! SHE IS!" Shawn gasped.

I laughed and rolled my eyes. "You guys are idiots."

They both put a hand over their hearts as if they were hurt, and fake cried for dramatic effect. I laughed, and starting getting up because it was getting late.

As we were walking back to the hotel and joking around, we walked past a group of girls. It was fine, until one of them screamed.

"OHMYGOD! IS THAT MATTHEW ESPINOSA AND SHAWN MENDES?!" A girl screamed.

"Fuck." Shawn mumbled under his breath, "I love our fans, but I like to live. Lex, you better know how to run."

Before I could even answer, Matt and Shawn took off running. I soon caught up, and we picked up the pace, because the fans were now chasing us.

We made it back to the hotel alive, losing the girls.

"Remind me to not walk by a group of girls with you guys." I said in between breaths. We just ran over 4 blocks. Matt just flopped onto the couch in his room, and Shawn laid on the bed. I sat on the floor, but then Shawn motioned for me to come sit next to him. I did, and then we noticed Matt was asleep. Shawn rolled his eyes, and put an arm around my shoulder. I smiled, and we just watched old movies on TV for the rest of the night.
