[Twenty Four]
***Lexi's POV***
"Lex, wake up." A distant voice said, and I groaned, turning my back to them.
"Lexi, I'll pour water on you." The voice said, and I knew exactly who it was.
"Taylor, what do you want?" I mumbled into my pillow. I felt the bed dip, and him pull the pillow away from my face.
"Hey, that's your fault, I look gross in the morning." I said, turning over to look up at him.
"No, you look beautiful as always. And I'm waking you up because it's 12." Taylor said with a smirk.
I groaned, "So?"
"So, we're hanging out, remember?" He said. I thought for a second, then smacked my head.
"Oh my god, Taylor, I forgot, I'm sorry." I said, getting up out of bed.
"It's cool. I'm just taking you out for lunch, nothing big." He chuckled, leaning back against my bed board.
I walked over to my closet and grabbed neon pink jean shorts with a lose, white crop-top. I ran into the bathroom, quickly throwing it on. I left my hair in natural, soft curls, and applied mascara and eyeliner. I walked out, put on my shoes, and was finished within 10 minutes.
"Let's go." I told Taylor, who followed me outside.

"Taylor, I don't know what to do about Andrew." I mumbled, bringing back up the subject.
"I thought you only had feelings for him." Taylor said, with an 'I-told-you-so' smirk.
"I do, but I feel like it's just... a relationship. It's nothing special, there's no sparks, no butterflies, nothing. Is that even normal?" I asked, popping a french-fry into my mouth.
"I don't know. Maybe you guys are stuck in friend zone." He said, taking a bite of his burger.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Well," he said, chewing, "You guys have been friends since you were little, right?"
I nodded.
"Maybe you aren't supposed to be anything but friends." He said, swallowing.
"Guys are confusing." I said, putting my head into my hands.
"Don't go blaming your guy problems onto the whole male population. Some of us are gentlemen." He said, referring to himself. I rolled my eyes.
"So, have you hung out with Mike a lot?" I asked, switching the subject.
"Yeah. He's pretty chill." Taylor said.
"At least my brother likes my best friend." I said with a smirk.
"True, if he didn't, he probably would've kicked my ass." He said, and I giggled, while he cracked a smile.
*
"Hailey! Maddy! I'm here!" I yelled into the large Gilbert house. I kicked off my shoes, and jogged up the stairs to Maddy's room.
"Finally." Hailey said, patting the spot next to her on the queen-sized bed.
"Sorry, Taylor took me out for lunch." I said, sitting down, and they nodded.
"Did he talk some sense into you about Andrew?" Hailey blurted, and Maddy shot her a warning glare.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Lex, it's obvious. Andrew... Isn't good, to say the least." Maddy said, as nice as possible.
"Not you guys, too." I mumbled.
"Well, what do you expect?" Maddy said.
"Alright, I know things with Andrew and I haven't been the greatest-"
"Isn't that the truth." Hailey mumbled, cutting me off. Maddy slapped her arm, shutting her up.
"-But, I think I'm just gunna wait and see what happens." I said, and Maddy nodded.
"Good." She said.
"How's Carter and Nash?" I asked, taking the attention off me.
"I miss Nash, but he calls everyday." Maddy said.
"Carter usually FaceTime's me when he can, and I miss him a lot." Hailey said, and I nodded in understanding.
Maddy and Hailey started talking about some new song, but I got lost in my thoughts.
"Maybe you aren't supposed to be anything but friends."
Taylor's words rang over and over in my head. Was he right? Andrew and I have a relationship where it's just the same thing over and over. I want a change, I want to leave the past behind.
Thinking about it now, though, Andrew is my past. I can't leave him, can I? But then again, I can't tell the same predictable story over a hundred times, let alone live it.
