[Seven]

***Lexi's POV***

"So what are we doing tonight?" I asked Maddy and Hailey after I took a sip of my Sprite. We were at the Diner, and it became our spot to hang out here in Nashville. It's been three weeks since we got here because we decided to stay a little longer. We are leaving to go to Washington in a week.

"I think we're all going to some party Matt told us about." Hailey answered, casually looking around at the scenes before her eyes.

"I think Nash will be there," I said and looked towards Maddy, "you ok with that?"

"I guess so. I mean, I can't avoid him forever, right?" I nodded with slight simpathy, even though Maddy hates when people feel sorry for her.

It turns out that Maddy had a thing for Nash, and the guys said he had a thing for her, too. The only problem is that last week he announced his new girlfriend, Sarah. She's super sweet, pretty, and funny. I feel bad for Maddy because she was heart broken. They haven't talked since; Maddy was avoiding him.

"How are things with Cameron?" Maddy asked, quickly changing the subject.

"Fine. It turns out his girlfriend cheated on him, and he was uneasy about the whole thing. I think he's alright now, though." I played with the straw of my Sprite, and casually looked around.

I noticed a couple in a booth, but I couldn't see who the guy was because his back was to me. The girl was really pretty: blonde hair, green eyes, amazing smile, skinny, and tan. Who wouldn't be jealous of her?

"Well, even if he got cheated on, why was he so tense around you and Taylor? I mean, come on, everyone noticed that." Hailey said, drawing my attention back towards her.

"I don't know. Guys are complicated." I shrugged, and Maddy piped in.

"Do I sense some jealousy from Cameron?" Maddy wiggled her eyebrows. Hailey giggled and I rolled my eyes.

"He wouldn't be interested in me. I'm nothing special, and he thinks we are friends. I agree." I said, picking up a French fry off my plate and eating it.

"No way! Even I-" Hailey started, but stopped once her eyes landed on something in the Diner. Maddy and Hailey's jaws were practically on the floor, and I followed their gaze.

My stomach twisted into a knot and my heart skipped a beat. That pretty blonde I saw before was standing up, about to leave. The thing that shocked me, though, was the guy with her. Cameron leaned down to kiss her, and I looked away. I didn't want to see anymore. I knew he thought of us as friends, and nothing more.

"Lexi, do you want to go?" Maddy whispered and I shook my head.

"It's fine. We're only friends, it doesn't bother me. He can date who he wants to." I said quietly. Inside I just felt my heart break a little.

We walked into the party, and almost everyone ran off in different directions. Carter, Hailey, and the Jack's went to the kitchen, Nash and Sarah went to see some friends, while Cameron, Shawn, Matt, and Maddy went to get drinks. Taylor and I stayed by the door.

"So, why did we come again?" Taylor asked and I laughed.

"Matt would of killed us if we didn't." I said while casually looking around.

"True, true." Taylor agreed, "wanna go outside? Not many people are back there and it's quieter." He asked, and I nodded.

"So, um, who's that girl Cameron's with now?" I brought up while walking towards the backyard with Taylor.

"Who?" Taylor asked, then set down his red cup filled with beer. He jumped onto a large rock and helped me up.

"Tall, blonde, green eyes, pretty, tan." I leaned back against another rock, and held my knees close to my chest.

"Oh, you mean Liz? I don't know much about her. He just introduced us once. Why?" Taylor asked, and turned his head to face me.

I shrugged, "curious."

"Do you like Cameron?" Taylor asked, and I looked into his warm, brown eyes that held concern and kindness.

"We're just friends, thats all." I said, questioning my own words. Do I think we are just friends or something more?

Taylor nodded in understanding, and we just sat there for a while, enjoying each other's company.

***Maddy's POV***

"Can I talk to you, Maddy?" Cameron asked me. I nodded, and followed him to the front yard.

"I, um, I saw you guys at the Diner today." He said, looking down at his feet, while I crossed my arms.

"And?" I snapped. I was pissed at him for doing that to Lexi. She denies that she has feelings for him, but even a blind person could see that she does.

"I just- was Lexi upset?" He got straight to the point and met my gaze. My eyes widened.

"You did not do that to make her jealous, did you?!" I raised my voice, and Cameron shushed me.

"No, I just want to know if I upset her." He said quietly.

"Cameron, you better get your head out of your ass and realize your feelings. You are sending so many mixed signals, I'm starting to get confused! I know you got cheated on and all, but there is no need to go around with other girls." I said, hoping to make him realize what he has been doing. This boy needs a wake up call.

"The girl I was with, her name is Liz," Cameron whispered, almost as if he was about to hurt me. "She was the one who cheated on me."
