Chapter Five

[Five]

***Taylor's POV***

I was sitting in a room with Cameron, Matt, Shawn, and the other guys. The girls said that they were going somewhere.

"So, Nash, you and Maddy, huh?" Cameron asked, raising his eyebrows.

Nash blushed, and mumbled, "Maybe."

"ASK HER OUT! ASK HER OUT!" We all started chanting, until Nash threw something at Matt's face, because he was the one who started it.

"I will eventually. HEY CARTER! What about you and Hailey?" Nash screamed, drawing the attention off him.

"OOOHHHH!" The guys all screamed, including me. Carter just blushed a little.

"Yeah, they both are pretty hot, but damn, Lexi. She's the best." Said Shawn.

"Yeah." Matt, Jack J., Jack G., and all the other guys agreed. Cameron looked pissed.

"Yo, Cameron, you ok, man?" I asked. He just clenched his jaw and nodded.

"Ight. I'm gunna get something to eat, bye." I got up, and walked out of the room, going into the elevator.

All of the guys want Lexi, and they will do anything to get her. She needs a friend that understands this crap.

I walked out of the elevator, and to the part of town with all of the stores. I saw Lexi, and ran over to her.

***Lexi's POV***

"Haha, ok, bye!" I yelled to Maddy and Hailey. They had to get ready for their date. I rolled my eyes, and turned around, to see Taylor running towards me.

"Hey!" I said, smiling. I never realized how good-looking Taylor was until now.

"Hey, you busy?" He asked, and I shook my head. "Good, because I want to hang out with you." He smiled.

"What about the guys?" I asked, surprised that he wants to hang with me.

He shrugged, and we started walking around. "So, Carter and Hailey, huh?" I asked, hoping to get some info.

"Yeah, they have a date later, right?" We sat down on a bench by a fountain, and I nodded. We sat in comfortable silence.

"So, tell me about yourself." Taylor asked out of nowhere.

"Uh, ok." I laughed, "I have an older brother, I play basketball and volleyball, my favorite colors blue, I hate ketchup, and I have some amazing friends." I nudged him gently, and he cracked a smiled. "Your turn." I said. I actually want to know more about him.

"Alright. Well, my favorite colors blue, I hate pickles, I play football and basketball, and I always wear bandanas." He finished with a smile.

I laughed at the last one. "I noticed." Taylor chuckled.

We also played 20 questions, truth or dare, and joked around for about an hour. Taylor was actually really sweet.

"Lex?" He asked.

"Mhm?" We were walking back towards the hotel now, because Magcon started in 30 minutes.

"You know all of the guys like you, right?" He asked gently.

"I doubt it. I'm nothing special, and it's probably a friend thing." I shrugged.

"They do, and they will do anything to get you. I'm just warning you, because I don't want to see you hurt..." He trailed off, and I wrapped my arms around his neck, hugging him. I needed a friend like this. Taylor wrapped his arms tightly around my waist, and we stood there for what felt like forever.

"Thank you." I said quietly, "I needed a friend like you."

Taylor wrapped an arm protectively around my shoulder and smiled. "That's what I'm here for."

We walked into the hotel like that, and walked towards the room where Magcon was being held.

I sat down next to Taylor. We were practically best friends now, and Cam was looking at Taylor with a look that could kill.

"What's up with you and Cam?" I asked Taylor, referring to Cameron's gaze. Taylor just shrugged.

Nash walked in with Carter, laughing. I still need to give him payback.

"Taylor! I have an idea, but you better be good with payback." His face instantly light up, and I whispered my plan into his ear. He nodded, and I smiled.

"Ok everyone! The fans will be coming in now, so get ready!" Rebecca yelled.

I sat in between Taylor and Matt. I was kinda upset that I didn't get to sit next to Cameron, but he would of sat next to me if he wanted to.

I was so lost in thought that before I knew it, Shawn was about to sing.

"Ok guys! I want to try something different today, and sing a duet." Shawn said. The crowd went crazy, and he looked at me then winked. "Lexi Summers, please!" He smiled, and Matt nudged my shoulder. I hesitantly stood up, and walked towards him.

Shawn handed me a mic, and I gave him a 'I-can't-believe-you're-doing-this' look. I sat down on a stool next to him, and he started to play one of my favorite songs: Waiting For Superman.

I began to sing the chorus with him, forgetting about everyone else.

Shawn smiled at me, and I sang my part.

She's out on the corner,
Tryin' to catch a glimpse,
Nothing's making sense,

Chasin' an answer,
A sign lost in the abyss,
This metropolis,
She says,
Yeah, he's still coming, just a little bit late,
He got stuck at the Five and Dime, Savin' the day,
She says,
If life was a movie then it wouldn't end like this,
Left without a kiss,
Still she smiles,
Oh-oh, the way she smiles, yeah...

Shawn joined back in for the chorus, and then we finished. The crowd wen't crazy, and Shawn hugged me.

"You were great." He mumbled into my hair.

"You weren't so bad yourself." I said after we let go. I winked, and he chuckled.

We were still at Magcon, but we were almost done. I looked at Taylor, and he nodded. I smiled, and we both took action. I put shaving cream all over my hand, and so did Taylor.

"OK GUYS! So I-" Nash started, but we cut him off.

"SMACK CAM!" Taylor and I screamed, and smacked Nash across the face with shaving cream.

"OOOOHHH!" All of the guys screamed, while Hailey and Maddy were laughing their asses off.

"PAYBACK IS A BITCH, NASH!" I laughed, and high-fived Taylor.

Nash wiped the shaving cream off his face, and started chasing me. I just kept on laughing.

"So, uh, while those two do what ever the fuck their doing, we're gunna get ready to meet some of you!" Hailey said into the mic, and the crowd cheered. Oh, where would I be without Magcon?
