Chapter - 6: You have a lot to cope up with.

Kaira's POV:

—I look at him bewildered, my jaw dropped open at the sight of him.

He cannot be here! Not now! Not after all that...

"You?" That was all I uttered which made him smirk down at me as he placed his palm on the wall and leaned forward to cover me in his shadow.

"Hey Kiri." he says still smirking like a creep.

Right when senses hit me like a bullet, I immediately scoot closer wrapping my arms around him, hugging him like my life depends on it.

Unconsciously a tear rolled out of my eyes and I sniffed, my throat going dry.

"Where the hell were you!? I was so scared. I missed you so damn much and you just disappeared like some freaking gas!" I couldn't help but complain. He wraps his arms around me in comfort, rubbing my back to calm me down.

I nuzzle into his chest, the same smell of his Fogg that used to calm me, working its effect again.

'I'm sure your nose must be red.' my conscience taunted.

I don't care! It doesn't even matter in front of him!

'Are you forgetting what he did?' My conscience reminded and I paused my thoughts, focusing it on something.

"What are you doing here after running away like a dog?" I ask pushing him off and fold my arms to my chest.

He sighed "Kiri, you know what happened that night. I needed a break from all that. And I had to come back, I missed you.."

"Missed me? Yeah right, I see so many calls from you in the past 2 years!" I snort sarcastically interrupting him.

"I couldn't get myself to dial it, Kiri, after I ruined everything." he shakes his head defeated.

My heart melts and I extend my palm to squeeze his shoulder making him look at me.

"Nothing it ruined Ritz, we can get back to where we left, all you have to do is cooperate a little." I say softly.

He freezes under my touch.

"Cooperate?" He hissed with his eyes burning with fire.

Damn it! Why did I have to bring it up now!?

"I'd do everything I can!" I protest immediately "Please Ritz."

"I came here for you Kiri, nobody else!" He stated with his palms balled in fists at his sides.

Change topic! I said change the topic!

I narrow my eyes "I don't believe that entirely. What's on with your restaurant business chain?"

His face went from rage to sheepish within a min. He flashed me a grin making me sigh in relief. I don't want to repeat history right this moment when he came back after so long.

"It's good everywhere. Dad and I were planning to open a branch here as well, the main one would be here with me being the manager." He informs.

"Really? Is chef Ritik ready for managing the restaurant by himself?" I teased.

He regarded me with a glare "I'm not a kid Kiri, you are." Proving his point he ruffled my hair.

Before I swat his hand away from my sweaty mess of hair, he jumps a step back.
