Kaira's POV:

Ding dong!

"Where were you Kaira, it's late today! Oh God, you look so sweaty! Hurry up come on in, your mother in law is here." Shreya scolded as soon as she opened the door.

"Rachel aunty is here today? At this time?" I questioned puzzled letting her drag me in.

"Offo! You ask too many questions. Greet her first then go freshen up. From her talks it looks like she wishes to spend the day with you, some mother-daughter bonding she said."

We immerged in the living room only to see my mother sitting ideally while my mother in law had Tanmay on her lap talking with him animatedly. I couldn't help but smile at the scene in front of me.

"Hello, aunty. Good morning." I greeted walking over to her.

She looked up at me with a smile "Good morning, dear. How have you been?"

"Great, aunty. How is everyone at home?" I asked standing itself as my mother would kill me if I get my smelly sweat on her couch covers. Meanwhile, Tanmay jumped down from my mother in law's lap and ran to the kitchen.

"Same. You tell me, where have you been, I'm waiting for almost 20 mins now."

I chuckled nervously when my mother glared at me "I'm sorry aunty, my batchmate asked for a rematch and I couldn't say no. I didn't know you'd be coming today, I would have come early."

She laughed "I'm messing with you, sweetheart. It's my fault to come early as well. But you can't blame me, I was excited to spend the day with my daughter."

I grinned "I'll just take a shower and be back."

Just as I took a step out of the couch circle, Rachel aunty called out "I'll come with you, I heard you've decorated your room very beautifully, I want to see that."

"Sure Aunty. This way."

Guiding her to my room I wonder who would have told her that. Preeti never came till my room, anyone from my family wouldn't say that— only Sidharth has been to my room though.

So my in-laws know Sidharth has been sneaking in my room at night? Do they even approve?

I made a mental note to question him when he comes back.

When I open my room door, I insist aunty to enter first, closing it behind me. Keeping my things away I take out fresh clothes while she looks around, examining my room.

Just as I opened my mouth to tell her I'll be a while, she asks "Where did you buy that painting, sweetheart?"

I looked over her shoulder at the painting in question and smiled as I answered "Actually, I painted it."

Her eyes snapped to me surprise written over her face "Really? It's beautiful. Is that couple you and Sid?"

I blushed remembering who was I talking to before nodding in answer.

She smiled looking at it again "It's really good. Do you paint regularly?"

"Yes aunty, since there is not enough space in my room I keep it in my wardrobe after a few days."

"Your house is big." She noted.

I chuckled sarcastically before composing and elaborating "Actually dad doesn't like much paintings in his house, well not at least of unprofessional people."

"If you have so many, have you ever tried for exhibition or art gallery? Some people would love to have such paintings in their homes, myself included."
