Chapter - 19: What did he do?

Sidharth's POV:

Knock knock.

"Yes?" I ask not looking up from the file in my hand.

The door of my cabin clicked open and footsteps followed.

"Lunch is here, sir!" Came a voice that stopped my heartbeat for a moment. I smiled as my eyes met my fiance.

"How did you bring lunch today, sweetheart?" I asked, walking over to her.

"I was with your mother learning her secret recipes. Heard you forgot your lunch box at home, again, so brought it." Her clear brown eyes glared at me cutely. I grinned shamelessly.

I gently grab her free hand in mine, pulling it to my lips I kissed her knuckles "Good that I did, after all, you came with it. I've missed you."

"It's just been a week!" She smiled before leaning in to give me a hug "but I missed you too."

A long moment in her arms felt like home. As soon as we broke the hug, she started dragging me to the couches at one corner of my cabin for lunch.

"Kaira, Kaira listen. Just one page is left. I promise we eat as soon as it's done." I plead walking back to my desk.

She pouted and I had to hold back the urge of pulling her to me and kiss her senselessly. Shaking my head mentally, I concentrated on the file.

"Hey is that lohegaon plot you're studying? A few kilometers to the south of the fort?" Her curious voice came from my left. I look up to see her checking out the file cover.

"Uh-huh."

"For what exactly? If I could ask." She bit her lip as she completed.

oh, don't do that baby!

"Factory." I muttered.

Her eyebrows knotted "Well, if I could, I'd suggest against it."

"Why?" Now, this got me interested.

She smiled taking a seat "The ground wouldn't be able to withstand it. The resources can't be brought to that area easily, like water and electricity that you'd need. The labor around is skilled, so they'd prefer to work in a better position than factory so you may get little problem there."

I narrowed my eyes "How do you know about it?"

"Last year Arav bhai was looking at it for his new project. It happens like, sometimes he gets me to do the area survey. So done research on it for 3 days." She grinned.

So she's an all-rounder? That's so sexy.

I closed the file and leaned forward "What's  more that I don't know about you partner?"

She laughed. Making me smile unconsciously.

"Lots. Stay close and you'll get to know them one by one." She winked.

"I intend to." I promised.

"So what does that say?" She directed to the file "Anything interesting?"

"It says I must fire a few people." I tell her before I press a few buttons on the intercom "In my cabin, now."

As soon as I keep it down Kaira calls out my name but I don't look up.

"I know what you are going to say, but I need to do this."

A couple of mins later knocks came on my door and I let the two traitors in.
