"Hey, love," David said as his girlfriend of five years finally excepted the Skype call.
"Hey, David," She replied, smiling at him. "So, are you already nervous for the game?" Y/N asked, making the tennis player chuckle slightly.
"Of course, not. It's only the semifinal of the French open, no need to be nervous," He joked as he ran a hand through his blonde hair smiling brightly back at his girlfriend before his expression turned sad and he frowned.
"It's just a pity that you won't be able to be there," He breathed out, making Y/N shoot him a sad smile.
"Yeah, I'm sorry, David," She answered, finding it hard to not tell him the truth this moment; she was in France, too, planning on surprising him by appearing in his box during the match, when he thought that she was still at home, working the whole day.
"But I'm still more than sure that you will win the match, although I won't be able to cheer for you," She stated as she carefully put a strand of her Y/H/C hair behind her ear.
"I hope I won't disappoint you, love," He replied, smiling at her lovingly. "But will you be able to come to the final if I win this match?" He questioned after a while of silence, in which she had tried her best to not ruin the surprise by saying something wrong.
"Of course," She said before chuckling slightly. "I wouldn't miss you playing in the final of the French open for the world," Y/N ensured him and David noticed how her eyes were shining at the thought of seeing him play in the final.
"But I still have to win the semifinal first," He said, nervously running a hand through his hair again, quietly huffing. "And I'm afraid I have to go right now," He stated, glancing at his watch.
"Give your best for me today, okay, David? And always remember that I believe in you," Y/N said, trying to encourage her boyfriend.
"I will do everything I can to win, Y/N, I promise," He stated, making her smile again.
"I love you, David," She said, quickly blowing him a kiss, which made him chuckle again.
"I love you, too, Y/N. I will call you in the evening after the match, okay?" He questioned and she immediately nodded.
"Goodbye and good luck!" Y/N exclaimed, waving at the camera before she ended the call. She knew that he still had to practice before the game would start and she also had to get ready.

About four hours later, Y/N found herself walking into the Stade Roland Garros, where the semifinal between David and Milos Roanic would take place.
She took a seat next to David's coach,
Thierry, in her boyfriend's box, wearing a hood over her head, so David wouldn't notice her before the start of the game.David's coach knew about her plan to surprise him as she had called him to tell him about everything and to make sure that everything would go right.
"Y/N?" Thierry asked quietly as she sat down beside him. "Hey, Thierry," She greeted him, lifting her head up, so he could look at her face.
"I'm glad you're here, David talks about missing you non stop," He explained, chuckling, making her smile brightly.
"So, you think he will be happy about seeing me here?" She questioned, hoping he would say yes.
"More than happy, Y/N," Thierry ensured her and quickly patted her shoulder. "It was a great idea to surprise him," He added, but before Y/N could reply they heard cheers erupt around them and they saw David walking on the court, followed by Milos.
The two tennis players placed their stuff at the side, quickly waving at the fans, while Y/N quickly covered her face with the hood again.
"But you should definitely reveal your face before the game starts, otherwise he will be distracted," Thierry advised her and Y/N agreed.
"You're right," She said, waiting until the two men stopped their warm up and got ready to start the game.
As she saw that David was looking at his box she quickly removed the hood, smiling brightly at her boyfriend, whose eyes went absolutely wide as he saw his girlfriend who he believed was stuck at home with a lot of work, being less than five meters away from him.
He shook his head in disbelief, while Y/N quickly blew him another kiss before he got ready for his first serve.

Matchball. After playing for three hours, David was finally about to win the match.
He got ready for the serve and Y/N took a deep breath as he threw the ball into the air.
She couldn't believe her eyes as it landed in the right corner, leaving Milos no chance to get it.
Ace. David threw his hands up in happiness, just enjoying the moment, while thousands of fans were applauding him.
Y/N jumped onto her feet, starting to clap loudly, her heart swelling with pride.
After the two sportsmen quickly hugged and congratulated each other David applauded together with the fans.
He looked to the right, seeing his girlfriend smiling at him brightly and he couldn't help, but immediately run towards her.
"I can't believe you're here," He stated as he stood right in front of his box and looked directly into his girlfriend's eyes.
He stretched his arm out to take her hand after such a long time of not being able to be together with her. "I'm so proud of you!"
