"Hey, Y/N," Thanasi said happily, pressing his lips to his girlfriend's cheek before sitting down on the couch.
Y/N just mumbled something in reply, keeping her focus on the papers that laid in front of her, instead of looking up at him.
"What are you doing?" He questioned, an amused smile visible on his face as he ran a hand through his hair.
"I'm trying to write a new song," She answered, glancing up at him for a short second, while she tapped her pencil against the table, "and I really need to concentrate."
The tennis player rolled his eyes at her statement; he had hoped to spend the day with her since the two of them hadn't had much time for each other lately.
"Can't you do that later or tomorrow?" He asked, but she immediately shook her hand without even looking at him.
Taking a deep breath, he leaned forward to place his lips on her cheek again. "Y/N," He started, but was cut of by her before he could say anything else.
"I don't have time for you right now, Thanasi. Could you please accept that and stop annoying me?" She snapped at him, which made his eyes go wide.
"I'm sorry that I want to spend time with my girlfriend," He stated, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
It was silent for a few minutes as he waited for her to reply, but it seemed like she didn't even notice that he was sitting next to her.
Frowning, he put one of his hands on her shoulder, his expression turning sadder with each second that she didn't look at him.
The Australian hated to admit it to himself, but for the past few weeks he felt like she didn't care about him or their relationship anymore because she was too focused on her work.
Normally, it would be her complaining about him not having enough time since he was playing a lot of tournaments in other countries, but now it was different.
She wasn't constantly texting or calling him when he was away and she didn't try to spend as much free time with him as she could whenever he was at home.
"Could you at least look at me for a moment?" He said, making her groan quietly.
"Just leave me alone for some time, okay? I need to finish this," She mumbled through gritted teeths.
Raising his eyebrows, Thanasi tried to run a hand through her y/h/c hair to calm her down, but she slapped his hand away.
"I don't understand you, Y/N!" He stated, basically jumping up from the couch and throwing his hands up in the air in frustration.
"There is nothing you can't understand, Thanasi! I don't have time for you right now, can you finally accept that and leave me alone?" She said, raising her voice before looking up at him.
His heart started to beat faster as he felt the sadness flowing through his body. "I'm sorry for wanting to spend time with the girl I love most in this world," He mumbled, trying to calm himself down a little because he was getting angrier by the second.
"You don't even care for our relationship anymore, Y/N!" He exclaimed, making her back away from him slightly.
"That's not true," She stated, but he didn't listen to her.
"I can't continue like this," He said, looking right into her eyes as she felt her heart falling into millions of pieces.
"What?" She asked, tears starting to form him her eyes.
It broke the tennis player's heart to see her like this and he immediately regretted what he said.
"I...," He started, but he couldn't find the right words to continue because of the look in her eyes; it was the saddest expression he has ever seen.
It felt like the silence between the two of them lasted forever, until she finally spoke up again. "I'm sorry for not spending enough time with you the last weeks, but I never meant to make you feel like I don't care about you and our relationship anymore."
"I'm sorry for everything I've said, love, I didn't mean it. I was just longing for some time with my beautiful girl," He replied, placing his hand on her cheek.
"I love you, Y/N," He whispered before leaning down to softly press his lips to hers.
"I love you, too, Thanasi," She answered, wrapping both of her arms around him with a smile on her lips.
"Do you want to continue writing your song now?" He questioned, his smile mirroring hers.
"No," She stated, quickly kissing his cheeks, "I'm yours for today."
"Just for today?" He asked, while she ran a hand through his hair.
"That depends on how long you want to keep me," She replied, shrugging her shoulders.
"What about forever?" He whispered, placing a soft kiss on her lips.
"I like the sound of that."
