Champion ~ Nick Kyrgios

"And now please put your hands together for the winner of this year's Australian Open, Nick Kyrgios!"

Y/N jumped onto her feet, clapping along with the thousand's of fans as she saw her boyfriend walking on the podest before they handed him the trophy.

To say that she was proud would have been an understatement, he just won his first grand slam title after all.

A few tears started to form in her eyes as he lifted the trophy into the air, smiling brightly at the cameras before he got ready for a short speech.

"This is an absolutely incredible moment in my career right now and I'd like to thank everyone, who helped me achieve this. Thank you to my amazing team and the outstanding fans, who have supported me throughout the whole tournament. Thank you also to all the organisers, who made this unbelievable tournament possible in the first place and of course, also thank you to you, Andy, for this incredible final; it was great to play against you. Congratulations for your second place," He stated, making a few people in the audience laugh as he gestured  towards Andy who just stood there with his arms crossed in front of his chest, probably hoping this would all be over soon.

Y/N clapped again, smiling brightly at Nick and giving him a thumbs up as she would have never excepted to hear such nice words from him.

"And lastly, I want to thank my beautiful girlfriend, Y/N, because she was probably the only one, who believed in me from the beginning and she is always there to support me. I love you, baby," He continued his speech, leaving Y/N completely speechless as she tried to take in what he just said.

A small blush crept onto her face, while tears were forming in her eyes for the second time that evening. 'I love you, too', She quickly mouthed to him as he was glancing at her for a second.

"Thanks for this incredible tournament; it is a dream coming true to win my first grand slam title in my home country and I hope there are many more to come!" Nick finished, lifting the trophy in the air again, posing for probably more than a hundred photos that were snapped in that moment.

Four hours later, Y/N found herself in Nick's arms on the way back to their hotel.

"This party was absolutely amazing!" She exclaimed as they exited the taxi, making their way up to their apartment on the third floor.

"The best I've ever been to," Nick agreed, smiling down at his girlfriend.

"Probably because you were the one celebrating the title this time, not one of the other's," Y/N stated, giggling slightly as he fumbled with the keys.

"That may be true," He replied, guiding her into the beautiful apartment they had rented.

"You know I'm really proud of you, don't you, Nick?" She questioned, taking a seat on the bed after hours of dancing and celebrating.

"Well, you haven't told me yet," He said, making her roll her eyes as he smirked at her.

"I didn't really have the chance to as you were mostly spending your time with your friends this evening," Y/N complained, which made her boyfriend chuckle.

"I'm sorry, baby. Now I'm all yours," He answered, leaning down to place his lips on top of hers.

She was about to wrap her arms around his neck, but he suddenly broke the kiss before turning around and leaving the room.

"Nick?" Y/N asked in confusion, but she didn't get a reply. Deciding to look what he was doing, she stood up and started to make her way over to him, until she heard a song begin to play.

Wish that you could build a time machine, so you could see the things no one can see.

"My favorite song!" She immediately exclaimed, her eyes starting to shine as Nick came into view again.

"Would you like to dance?" He asked, stretching out his hand, making Y/N's eyes go wide.

"You're acting so different today," She stated, but took his hand nevertheless and the two began dancing to the melody of the song.

"Is that a bad thing?" Nick questioned, pulling his girlfriend even closer to him.

"No, definitely not," Y/N answered, placing her head on his shoulder.

"I love you," She whispered, causing a bright smile to form on her boyfriend's lips.

"Y/N," The tennis player and newly crowned Australian Open champion mumbled as they song was nearly over.

She hummed something in reply, lifting her head up, so she could look into his eyes.

"I've been thinking about this for some time now," He started, making his girlfriend raise her eyebrows in confusion. "And I think that now is the perfect time," He finished, taking a deep breath before he slowly got down onto one knee, getting a small box out of his pocket.

"Y/F/N, I love you with all my heart and I want to spend to rest of my life with you. Will you please marry me?" He asked, opening the box to reveal a beautiful ring and smiling up at her with hope in his eyes.

Tears were forming in Y/N's eyes for what felt like the tenth time that day as she repeatedly nodded. "Yes," She whispered, making Nick's smile grow even wider.

"I love you," He said, placing the ring on her finger before getting onto his feet and kissing her again.

"I love you, too, my champion!"
