Y/N nervously straightened the shirt she was wearing before taking a glance at her watch; it was her first time being a reporter at the Australian Open and her interview with no one else, but Roger Federer would start in ten minutes.

Taking a deep breath, she slowly started to make her way towards the place where her team had set up the cameras.

She took a look at the papers in her hand one last time, on which she had quickly noted the questions she wanted to ask him.

As she was not paying attention she ran straight into someone, all of her paper's falling onto the ground.

She groaned slightly before she looked up, her eyes widening as she saw who was standing in front of her.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Nadal," She immediately said, sending him a sorrowful look before starting to pick up her papers.

"It's not a problem," Rafael replied, handing her the last piece of paper from the ground.

"I guess, it was partly my fault, too," He added, chuckling slightly, while Y/N was looking at her watch in panic; she would be late for the interview.

"Are you okay?" The tennis player opposite to her questioned as he noticed the panic in her eyes.

"I'm going to be late," She mumbled to herself, sighing before trying her best to smile up at Rafael.

"I am fine, thank you," She replied as she already turned around, hurrying to the interview,  not noticing that Rafa was watching her with a smile on his lips.

Quickly wiping her tears away, Y/N sat down on one of the benches', but it was to no avail because new tears kept on rolling down her cheeks.

"I'm so stupid," She whispered quietly to herself, not wanting anyone to notice that she was crying.

"It was my first and probably also my last time as a reporter at the Australian Open," She continued to speak to herself.

"Why do you say that?" She suddenly heard someone ask, making her abruptly look up to see Rafael Nadal standing in front of her again.

She tried her best to muster a smile, failing miserably.

"Everything is fine, I was just talking to myself," She lied, tears still running down her cheeks.

"What happened?" He questioned, taking a seat beside her, but she just shrugged her shoulders.

"I don't want to bother you with my problems, Mr. Nadal," She answered, making Rafa shake his head.

"You can call me Rafael or Rafa, whatever you prefer," He told her, stretching out his hand.

"I'm Y/N," She replied, smiling for a short moment before shaking his hand.

"So, why are you crying, Y/N?" He asked, placing a hand on her shoulder to encourage her.

"I was interviewing Roger Federer and maybe I was asking stupid questions, I don't know, but he got a little disrespectful," Y/N explained before sighing.

"I'm sure he didn't mean what he said, he was probably just a bit stressed about the upcoming semifinals," Rafael replied, trying his best to cheer her up.

"I don't think that my boss cares about that; it was the first time I got the chance to interview someone and now I probably won't get that chance ever again," She said, running a hand through her Y/H/C hair.

"Don't worry, I will tell them I don't want to be interviewed by anyone else, but you," The tennis player replied, making her chuckle slightly.

"Thank you, Rafa," She answered as a small smile found it's way onto her lips.

"I mean it," He stated, smiling brightly back at her.

"Be prepared for stupid questions then," She replied, chuckling again.

"I'm always prepared for this kind of questions," Rafael said, looking at the ground for a moment before looking back up at her.

"I also have a stupid question for you," He said, making Y/N raise her eyebrows at him.

"Would you maybe like to go out with me sometime?" He asked, chuckling nervously.

Y/N eyes immediately went wide, but she continued to smile nevertheless.

"That wasn't a stupid question," She stated as she looked up at him. "I would love to."

"Really?" Rafael questioned and Y/N nodded as he handed her his mobile phone.

"You can give me your number," He said, running a hand through his hair.

She quickly typed it in, while he was glancing at his watch.

"I think I have to go now," He stated, slowly standing up after she handed the phone back to him.

"I'm looking forward to your call." Y/N said, standing up, too.

"Me too." He replied, smiling at her as he turned around, starting to walk away.

"Rafa," She called out before he was out of sight, making him turn around again. "Thank you for cheering me up."
