Y/N's eyes widened in shock as her boyfriend, Pablo, took a medical timeout after loosing the first set 6-2 against Rafael Nadal.

She knew it was a dream coming true for him to play in the quarterfinal of the French Open and that he wouldn't take the timeout if it wasn't really necessary.

"Stay calm, Y/N," Pablo's coach said as he noticed that she was repeatedly running a hand through her y/h/c hair.

Right in that moment, Pablo walked onto the court again and Y/N immediately started applauding along with the thousands of fans.

She saw him looking up at her and quickly mouthed an 'I love you' to him, making a small smile appear on his face.

Pablo was doing the best he could, but soon enough the injury was too bad and he had to give up the match in the second set.

Y/N's heart broke as she saw him waving at the fans one last time before leaving the court.

A few tears started rolling down her cheeks because it hurt her to see him not being able to play and having to give up on his dream.

She took a deep breath, turning around to her boyfriend's coach, who placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Go down and talk to him; he needs you right now," He stated, smiling at her sadly.

She nodded quickly before making her way down to the player's area, where she found him sitting in a chair with his head in his hands.

"Pablo," She whispered, which made him look up and her heart broke even more as she saw the tears in his eyes.

"Don't cry, love, you did everything you could out there," She said, sitting down in a chair opposite to him before taking his hand, "And I'm incredibly proud of you."

"But I wanted to win this so bad," He mumbled, some tears rolling down his cheek, "It's so unfair; why did this have to happen now?"

"I know, Pablo, but this just happens sometimes; it's not your or anybody else's fault. I'm sure you'll have plenty of other chances to play in the quarterfinal of a Grand Slam," She said, softly running a hand through his hair, but he shook his head.

"You don't understand it," He replied, sighing deeply, "This was my chance."

"You'll have more chances in the future, you'll come back stronger after this injury; I believe in you," Y/N stated, looking directly into his sad eyes.

"I wanted to make you proud," Pablo said, looking down at their intertwined hands.

"You did...," She started, but he cut her off.

"I wanted to propose to you," He whispered, making her eyes go wide as soon as she realized what he had said, "I had everything planned out."

"You can still do it," His girlfriend replied, her eyes lightening up at the thought of getting married to the love of her life, but the tennis player shook his head again.

"Nobody wants to marry a loser," He answered, looking down at the ground.

"You're not a loser, Pablo. You fought out there, you did your best and you made me proud," Y/N stated, making him look up at her again, "And even if you were a loser I'd still love you with all my heart."

A small smile appeared on the Spaniard's lips as he heard those words and he couldn't help, but lean in to place his lips on top of hers.

Without thinking about it twice, he stood up from his chair before getting down on one knee and taking a small box out of his pocket.

Y/N stood up from her chair as well, a few tears welling up in her eyes as she looked down at her boyfriend.

"Y/F/N, words cannot express how much I love you and how lucky I am to call you my girlfriend. You're the most amazing woman I've ever met and I could never thank you enough for everything; you're always there for me, you always cheer me up, you light up my whole life, princess, and you make me the happiest man alive. Thank you, love, thank you so much for loving me and letting me love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Y/N and I know that I'll love you forever, with all of my heart.
So, Y/F/N, will you please do me the honour and marry me?" Pablo finished his speech, while he opened the small box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring.

Tears were now running down Y/N's cheek nonstop and she smiled the brightest she ever had.

"Yes, of course," She whispered, repeatedly nodding her head as Pablo stood up to softly slide the ring onto her finger.

She stared at it in amazement for a moment before her fiancé wrapped his arms around her waist to pull her closer to him.

"I love you so much," She stated, looking directly into his eyes, while he smiled down at her.

"I love you, too, Y/N," He replied, leaning in to kiss her again, "Forever."

I really hoped everybody liked this one shot and don't hesitate if you want to request something👼
