"Will you be able to come to see the final?" Roger asked his girlfriend, hope clearly audible in his voice.
She sighed heavily, clutching the phone tightly to her ear while taking a deep breath.
"You know, I would love to, but I've got so much to do," She explained, causing him to frown, although he knew she couldn't see it.
It hurt her to know how much this answer disappointed him, but she had tried everything to make it possible to be there for him.
"I'm sorry," The young woman quickly added, but of course, that didn't make him feel any better.
He slightly shook his head and ran a hand through his hair.
"That's what you always say," He mumbled, remembering all the times she had told him she was too busy to come and see him play.
"What?"
"You weren't there to support me for quite some times now."
"That's because I've got a lot of work to do!"
"No, that's because you don't even want to come!"
Y/N was speechless after hearing those words and she felt tears forming in her eyes.
"That's not true! You know that."
"If you don't love me anymore, just say it!"
She couldn't believe what he was saying. Angrily shaking her head, she ran a hand through her y/h/c hair.
"You're an idiot," She whispered before ending the call, throwing her phone onto the couch and sitting down with her head in her hands.
Of course, the two of them had fought before -they had been together for more than five years after all- but it had never been like this, never had he said such things to her.
She also felt a bit guilty because it was true, she hadn't been to any of his matches in the past month although she knew how much it meant to him.
"What am I supposed to do now?" She quietly asked herself, taking a look at her phone to see if Roger had texted her, but there was nothing.
Sighing and with shaking hands, she pulled her laptop out from under the table and searched for flights that would take her to Shanghai in time for the final.

A tiring twelve hour flight later, Y/N found herself at the airport of Shanghai with only one hour left before the final would start.
Rushing around the streets, she searched for a taxi and told the driver to drive as fast as possible as soon as she found one.
Her hands were shaking the whole time because she didn't know how he would react when he'd see her.
It wasn't very easy to convince the security to let her get to the court, but she somehow managed to do it anyway and quickly took a seat next to his coach in the box.
"Y/N, you're here?" He questioned, smiling as she slightly waved at him, "Roger will be so happy to see you."
"I'm not too sure about that."
"Believe me, Y/N. He'll be beyond happy."
A small smile finally found its way onto her lips as she heard those words.
Without thinking about it twice, she started cheering for her boyfriend as he won the first set against Rafael Nadal 6-4.
During the short break, she noticed how he looked at her, his eyes lightening up and his heart picking up its speed as she smiled at him from afar.
He now wanted to win the match more than ever and couldn't help but smile once in a while, although he stayed focused on the match.
"Yes!" The Swiss tennis player exclaimed as the second set ended with a solid 6-3 win.
After shaking hands with his opponent and the referee, he ran towards his box and climbed over the barricade.
"You're here," He breathed out as he stood right in front of Y/N, who immediately threw her arms around him.
"I'm so proud of you!"
"And I'm sorry, I shouldn't have gotten mad at you like that. You are...," Before he could finish, she placed her lips on top of his, while his arms wandered around her waist, slightly pulling her closer.
"Let's not talk about that anymore," She stated, brushing a hand through his dark hair and leaning in to kiss him again.
"I love you, champion."
