Y/N's eyes widened as she looked around the huge center court at the Rogers Cup in Montreal. She still couldn't believe it that she was going to see one of her favourite players, Denis Shapovalov, play against Rafael Nadal in just a few minutes; it was a dream coming true.
If possible, the smile on her lips went even wider as she sat down on her seat that wasn't very far from the court.
Raising to her feet again after a few minutes, she happily applauded along the other fans as the two players walked onto the court and Denis placed his bag on the bench that was nearly directly in front of her.
Before she knew it, the match started and she felt nervousness and excitement taking over her.
Sighing, she watched as the Canadian lost the first set, but she didn't loose the hope yet because she was sure that he could still do it and she was right.
The tiebreak in the final set was one of the most nerve-racking things she had ever witnessed and she couldn't quite believe her eyes as Denis threw his hands into the air before sinking to the ground after making the final point.
Finally stopping to fiddle with her fingers, she basically jumped up from her seat, starting the cheer the loudest she ever had.
"This is so incredible," She quietly told herself, the smile never leaving her lips, while she watched her favourite tennis player talking to one of the officials.
"We want to do something special today," The on-court interviewer stated, walking towards Denis and patting his shoulder, "but first; how are you feeling, Denis?"
"I can't even describe it; this is one of the best moments of my life -playing and winning against the legend, Rafael Nadal- and I'm beyond happy and absolutely speechless."
"That's more than understandable. Congratulations on this outstanding win."
"Thank you very much and also thanks to my incredible fans for the undying support."
"Well, now's your chance for a real special thanks," The interviewer stated, turning around to face the audience, "Our man Denis has agreed to play a little match against one of his fans."
The cheers following this announcement were even louder than the ones before.
"So, if you know how to play tennis and wanna play against this guy, raise your hands now. Our cameras will choose the winner."
Without thinking about it, Y/N immediately raised her hand into the air; she didn't think that she'd win, but she hoped it with all of her heart.
"Alright," The interviewer said as everybody expectantly started at the screens, "that's our lucky winner."
Y/N's eyes widened in shock as she saw her face on the screen and slowly realized what that meant; she really was going to meet her favourite player.
"Don't be shy, come down here."
Her hands started shaking as she climbed over the barricade with the help of one of the officials and made her way towards Denis and the interviewer.
"Hey there," The interviewer exclaimed, slightly pulling her forward, so she was standing right next to the Canadian, "What's your name?"
"I'm Y/N," She replied, her eyes lightning up even more with each second, while she silently told herself to calm down a little.
"And you're playing tennis?"
"Yes, but just for fun."
"You think you'll have a chance against Denis?"
"We'll see," The girl answered, making the whole audience and the two man on court chuckle.
"Well, good luck," The interviewer said as someone handed her a racket, but before she could go to the other side of the net, Denis wrapped his arms around her in a quick hug.
"It's good to meet you, Y/N," He mumbled, smiling at her before she positioned herself opposite to him, the racket in her hands and her eyes fixated on the ball the Canadian threw into the air.

"Not bad," Denis commented as the two of them shook hands with each other after he had defeated her 6-2 in the short one set match, "You should do that as a professional."
Y/N blushed slightly at his statement and nervously started chuckling.
"I mean it; I'd play mixed doubles with you anytime," He stated, placing the racket in his bag before turning around to face her again.
"Thank you," She mumbled, looking up into his eyes with a huge smile on her lips.
"Why don't you give me your phone number?" The Canadian asked, handing his phone to her as he saw the interviewer approaching them again.
"S-sure," She replied, saving her number in his contacts, "I can't believe I am so lucky today."
Shaking his head, Denis took her hand and placed a short kiss on her cheek. "I'm the lucky one."
