Tennis Player One Shots

After taking a deep breath, Y/N finally knocked on the door in front of her and patiently waited until it was opened.

"Y/N?" Her best friend, Thanasi, asked in disbelief as he spotted her in front of him.

"Hey!" She just exclaimed, throwing her arms around him in a quick hug before walking into his apartment.

"What are you doing here?" He questioned, following her into the living room where she was already sitting on the couch.

"I came to see my best friend, what else?" She replied, smiling up at him as he sat down beside here.

"Well, you haven't really had that much of time for me lately," He stated and Y/N could clearly see the sadness in his eyes.

"I had to do a lot for the university, I'm sorry," She answered, running a hand through her hair. "But I'm here know, aren't I? How are you feeling?" She asked, gesturing towards his hand; a Tendinitis was forcing him to take a break from tennis.

"I'm alright," He said, shrugging his shoulders and quickly looking at the ground.

"Don't lie to me," His best friend replied, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Your mother told me that you aren't leaving the house anymore and...," She started, but he cut her off.

"So, my mother sent you here to cheer me up?" He asked, chuckling slightly. "I'm fine, really."

"No you aren't, but you will feel the best you ever did after spending some quality time with your best friend again," She replied, smirking up at him before taking his hand, forcing him to stay up.

"Where are we going?" He questioned as they left the house, still holding hands.

"You'll see," She stated, taking a glance at their intertwined hands.

"Well, you're lying if you say this wasn't the best day ever, Kokkinakis," Y/N said as they returned to his apartment after spending the whole day at an amusement park.

"Okay, okay, it wasn't that bad," The Australian tennis player replied, making her hit him playfully.

"It was amazing," She said, blushing slightly as she saw him starring down at her with a smile.

"You're right," He finally agreed, taking a look at his watch. "Have you seen how late it is already? I guess you have to stay here tonight."

"Oh," She mumbled, chuckling quietly. "If it doesn't bother you I could sleep on your couch."

"I definitely won't let you sleep on the couch, Y/N. You can sleep in the bed," He replied, making his best friend raise her eyebrows.

"But I don't want you to sleep on the couch," She stated, but he shook his head.

"I never said I was going to, did I?"

Y/N couldn't hold back the tears anymore his first ATP-trophy ever was handed to her best friend; after playing for more than two hours he finally won the Brisbane International, only two weeks after recovering from his injury.

She cheered loudly after he ended his speech and as soon as she was allowed to she ran down to finally congratulate him.

"I'm so proud of you!" She exclaimed, jumping into his arms.

"Thank you," He mumbled, happily twirling her around. "I could have never done this without you. After all you were the one, who cheered me up and got me to leave the house again when I was down." He added, chuckling as he placed her back on the ground.

"It was the least I could do," She replied, blushing slightly.

"You know that you're cute when you're blushing, don't you?" Thanasi suddenly said, making Y/N's eyes go wide.

She chuckled nervously, gazing at the ground until he softly placed a hand under her chin, making her look up at him again.

"I mean it," He whispered before leaning down and softly placing his lips on top of hers.

Y/N was more than surprised, but she still closed her eyes, wrapping her arms around him almost automatically.

"You don't even know for how long I wanted to do this," The Australian tennis player breathed out after they broke apart.

"Really?" She questioned, smiling as he nodded and softly took her hand.

"And I also wanted to ask if you want to be my girlfriend," He stated, nervously running a hand through his hair.

"You're an idiot, Thanasi, but there's nothing that I'd love more than to be your girlfriend."
